Grand Prix 4 Just noticed something! Forgive my nitpicking.
There's a big bump (monodamper?) on top of the nose, where the renault logo is. You can see it pretty clearly in the photos on the previous page.
I'm sure it would be a pain to shape now, but it would be a nice detail and make the car that little bit better

Grand Prix 4 enjoy your vacation mate
@Lord Kamder: you can try F1GT, the site I linked some pics to above , if you haven't already. they have a fair selection of big pics. Unfortunately I don't have any 1992 pics on my HD

Grand Prix 4 I think fongu's right and your model is wrong
based on the rules, the airbox should be 95 cm high, and the rear wing 80cm (both measured from the lowest part of the car's floor)

Grand Prix 4 well here I come with the nitpicks, sorry Tis but I'm also posting some pics to help you out
here you can see that there's a white stripe down the back of the airbox, cant tell if you painted it or not:
a couple more from same site
here's a pic of the rear diffuser in case you need. looks like you could make the rear end a little narrower

Grand Prix 4 The pods look "right" to me in the sense that the proportions are correct, but I think they would benefit from another row of polys to make them more rounded. same goes for the airbox intake

Grand Prix 4 it's legal. only the sides of the wing have been raised in recent years, for some reason. maybe the fia left the middle part alone to allow low noses, but they should really think about closing this loophole since it doesn't look like anyone's going to make any more low-nosed cars

F1 You can't trust the drawings! If you want to get the proportions right you have to calculate it from a photo. Start from a known dimension, like a tire (if working from a side view) or the width of the car or bodywork (if working from a front, top or rear view). Obviously you want to use as much of a dead-on view and as long a shot as possible to eliminate the effects of perspective.

the williams definitely has got body lines, they just aren't as intense as some other cars. Personally I think that a lot of painters overdo it. if you look at pics of the real cars y

Grand Prix 4
here's a bunch of changes I suggest:
I know they ran a few different variants on the airbox, but I can't find any that looks the way the car is currently modelled (if someone can prove me wrong then I'll be happy to accept it)
also it looks like the front wing may be to far forward, or there is just too much gap between the endplates and the front wheels. I can't

Grand Prix 4 I hope that nobody actually pays money for such things.... we have much more accurate models in gp4, and none of us charges a penny. Whats the point of all that detail if it's not even right?

Grand Prix 4 nice looking renders, but not at all realistic

Grand Prix 4 how are the arms done? i'm guessing just another rotating tga in the same fashion as the wheel? can we have team specific arms as well? I almost wonder if it might just be better (surely it would be easier) just to paint them directly on the wheel

Grand Prix 4 I think the diameter on the fronts should be 25", only a 1" difference. Still 13" diameter rim on the front, same as on the rear.
about the fw16, I haven't had any contact with duffer or mckey lately, so I don't know what's going on with '94 mod. certainly my intent was that my fw16 be included, unless someone makes a better one.

Grand Prix 4 I agree with greg about the tyres, the rears seem too narrow or too tall. Should be 26" diameter and 18", its hard to tell but it doesn't look like they are

Grand Prix 4 I think the point where the cockpit meets the nosecone is too wide. should be exactly 30cm wide at that point. also the front of the sidepods need another look, from the top view that angle looks wrong

Grand Prix 4 mclaren, nearly done mapping:
still plenty of work to do on the texture, and I still need to make suspension
also I need help with a logo: the round one on the rear wing endplate, right in front of the number

Grand Prix 4 I've got that mclaren pic already, but thanks

Grand Prix 4 jordan looks bloody brilliant as always
one small nitpick: you might want to add a few more polys to the top of the center part of the diffuser, in order to make it more rounded and less pointy
by
loren

Grand Prix 4 @berger_fan: the midwing is the same height as the top of the roll hoop (.95 meters above the reference plane, the max allowable height), but there is a slight downward slope to the top of the airbox as it goes back, so I think it is tricking your eyes. I still need to work on that area a little though, I haven't even finished joining the 2 sides of the car there as you can see

Grand Prix 4 first shot of mclaren.... CTDP one was absolute crap so it's scratch built
I suppose I can no longer complain to sixdegrees about the polycount on his jordan... this one will be pretty huge as well
There will also be a version without the midwing
on another note I should finish the fw16 today or tomorrow

Grand Prix 4 if i'm not mistaken, the wheel sizes up until 92 were
rear: 26"x18", rim diameter 13"
front: 25"x 10?, 13" rims <<<I'm not really sure about the 10". seems way too small to me, but that's what I read somewhere. but the other dimensions I'm pretty sure about
for 93 the rears were narrowed to 15", and the front diameter was rai

Grand Prix 4 heres the dash for tyrrell.... I think also used by footwork, jordan, and forti during 1995. This pic is actually from an indycar, and the rev lights on top aren't part of the dash itself
