You should install a controller remapper and reassign the axis and buttons you want to use. Maybe the pressure sensitive buttons are why they aren't recognized as buttons. As for triggers, they are analog, so it's not a surprise they're not buttons.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
I don't see the point of playing in lower resolution, it's far to pixelated to be playable in my opinion. I know dgvoodoo doesn't work well with GP3, that's the reason I didn't use it in the first place, and switched to dxwnd, despite the few transparency bugs on intel integrated GPUsby zifox - Grand Prix 3
Same test on the GTX1050 DgVoodoo, correct but very slow DxWnd, with missing parts That's also what I got with my previous install.by zifox - Grand Prix 3
I've tested on my AMD rig: With dgvoodoo only, it's visually correct, but very slow. (it's ok in 512 with no details, but very slow in 1280 with all details, as the PO in the second pictures shows) Same as what I got with my default install. With DxWnd, I get the same exact result I get with my default install. (transparency issues and PO is about the same)by zifox - Grand Prix 3
I managed to make dgvoodoo work with dxwnd. It does fix the visual bugs mentionned above on the GTX1050, but it had two drawbacks: - PO is almost twice as high, so I get way over 100% in the first bend. - some parts are not drawn on the wheel at the very beginning, plus text on the LCD display of the wheel is very ugly, really, pixellated. I also tried the same setup on my ATI card (RX570by zifox - Grand Prix 3
Tried it but it didn't change anything on the intel cards: same PO and same visual bugs. I tried on the GTX1050, and as soon as I select something else than auto, the display breaks when launching a race: the screen only show the top left corner of the image. (I think a fourth of the requested resolution) Speaking of the GTX 1050, here are the visual bugs I get:by zifox - Grand Prix 3
The 1050 card is definitely used: the only visual bug I have with Intel integrated gpus (laptops or desktop) are black textures in the cockpit becoming transparent. When I use the 1050, half the tyres disappear, as well as part of opponents' cars. I'll take screenshots to show the issues.by zifox - Grand Prix 3
I tried to revert to older driver for the 1050 card, but it didn't change anything. Same visual bugs. I ran GP4 (modded from head to toes), it runs smoothly in 1440p @ 60fps on the same computer for a 20-30% PO. I'm a bit confused by the performances of each platform, because the slower on paper is actually the one running the best.by zifox - Grand Prix 3

After the death of the HDMI port of my old laptop, I can't run GP3 on it, and trying to make it work on another computer raised several questions. Initially, I settled with DxWnd to be able to run the game in a window and record my races. (dgvoodoo didn't have any glitch, but it was slower) That laptop is a Dell 7720SE, and it has a Core I7 3630QM, with a dual HD4000/GT650M (Optimus)by zifox - Grand Prix 3
You can if you use dxwnd to launch the game. The windowless (no banner) option doesn't work completely: the banner re-appears when on track. It even has a nice option which sets the background to black, which is very useful since the game doesn't support widescreen resolutions.by zifox - Grand Prix 3

Wait, you had jittering with FFB and you solved it by using reshade ? I can't see the link ? The replacement of the directx dll maybe ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Some news about this issue. First of all, i'm not the only one having this problème PWM (Ted Meat) has it too on one computer, with a different wheel brand. While trying some tweaks on GP3 on my newest machine (it won't run in hardware mode), I realized I had the issue too. Thing is, I play GP3 on an old laptop, which has no rendering issue and I didn't notice any issue with the Fby zifox - Grand Prix 4
Why would modded tracks not be available in software mode ?by zifox - Grand Prix 3
You need to edit the alpha channel of the texture you are painting, you'll need an application like Gimp or Photoshop to access it and save it correctly. Darker values mean less reflections. A introduction to alpha channels on gimp: edit: my guess from you first screenshot is that you used an editor that doesn't handle alpha and every part you edited as now an alpha value ofby zifox - Grand Prix 4
Check the alpha channel of your textures, the way the bright part is shaped make me feel like there's a big white region in it. (alpha channel is used to control reflection, not transparency)by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Amazing ! Do cars do blaster noises when you shift gears ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
OMG ! This must be the best piece of news of 2022. The one thing I've given up on several years ago: a way to directly work on 3D shapes ! Bye bye format conversions and the bugs coming in the process ! If I could, I'd give you a huge hug and pay you a beer. At least one. Awesome work you did there ! A small archive, but an incredibly huge step for everyone here !by zifox - Grand Prix 4

2005 cockpit pack added.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
I never do things like everyone. Great pack, I finished packing a cars.wad, it looks very nice. I don't know if one exists, I'll do a cockpit texture pack for the shape I'm using.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Thanks a lot, I couldn't find a download link. Why don't you include the shape in your pack ?by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Where can we find the helmet shape for this update ? I've tried used the 2006 shape but the top/visor texture is messed up.by zifox - Grand Prix 4

Thanks you very much for this fantastic update, once again !by zifox - Grand Prix 4
Ok i found a lead: it doesn't happen without GPxPatch. Which is a bit of a problem for me as I can't load a race with a custom season without GPxPatch, the game crashes before the weather forecast screen with many of the custom tracks.by zifox - Grand Prix 4
WTF ? Nudity. On a statue ? That's just plain stupid. And I don't use that word lightly. There is no problem with nudity, if it's not a mean to diminish women. I don't know where you live, but mentioning censors (which don't exist in our societies, we don't need anyone to tell us what we can see or not) you might try to open your mind and try to understand what yoby zifox - Grand Prix 4
