I already have a Sidewinder wheel but my desk isn't really big enough for it and my seat is too high so pressing the pedals is awkward. So I wanted a joystick maybe a pad which is analogue as I think that is a more compact option which is easier to use. The reason is that I run in a couple of GPx leagues and although I am one of the quicker keyboarders the analogue guys are a second a lapby W1lliams - Grand Prix 4
I am planning on buying an analogue joystick for GP3 and GP4, can anyone recommend a good one to go for as the ones I have seen look more like aircraft controllers. Or is that not a problem? Thanks for any advice!by W1lliams - Grand Prix 4
I know Bruce Duncan quite well as he is my team boss in the CRL and can assure all regular forumers he is a decent bloke. I have been using this forum on and off for a few months and am slightly surprised at the replies some "adverts" for GP3 leagues to say the least. Here's my point of view for you to shoot down in flames. I have played all the GP games since Gp1 on the Amiga aby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Thanks very much guys! When I said I dont want to uninstall and reinstall I meant all the modifications to the game, I had some problems doing it with GP3 2k as I am a bit fick u see The other suggestions are great, thanks a lot for being such smartasses - in the nicest possible way :D I'll come back to bug you with more dumb questions later..........by W1lliams - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Vader but that's the problem, the copy I have on my HD is the modded game. Would it be possible for someone to email me the data or is it too big? Or could I find it on the GP4 HD and extract the necessary files from there? So many questions, so little time :D Thanks anyways!by W1lliams - Grand Prix 4
I installed GP4 and immediately downloaded the carsets for the league I am running in so I don't have the default values for HP etc anymore. What I'd like to know is how can I get back the defaults as I want to enter some hotlap competitions which require the default HP etc? I don't really want to reinstall everything as I am too lazy but I did make a copy of the game on the HD sby W1lliams - Grand Prix 4
Yeah I thought I recognised your URL (Down Racing). I drive for Speedworx Stealth so can't complain too much about HP as we only give away about 10 or so to the top team, Mapes VO. I like the GPTC as it is very accurate, the cars all have differing attributes and the top teams try to sign the better drivers whilst generally rookies have to start at the bottom and prove themselves. Doesnby W1lliams - Grand Prix 4
I currently drive in three GP leagues and would be interested in hearing other drivers comments if they participate in similar. Please post URL's as there are so many leagues out there, I like to keep an eye on developments in the internet racing world. A good question would be will GP5 support on-line racing? Will there be a GP5 and is there a god? Here's the ones I run in -by W1lliams - Grand Prix 4
Hey thanks a lot Searchbuttonman! I don't actually get an illegal opperation but I will try those suggestions to see if they help. If not I shall return! Davidby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Wonder if anyone could help me please with a problem. I have Win98 and am running GP3 2k. It has just started to crash midway through a game after being fine for several months. The only change I have made is installing a new track and carset (I have done this numerous times before and I don't think that is the problem.) The same carset and tracks are being used fine by other people I knby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Hello I have a MS Sidewinder forcefeedback wheel and have tried to play GP3 2k with it but it's almost impossible to drive with. I think the settings I have used are not the best. Can anyone give some advice about this or post the URL of a site which has settings on it? Thanks.by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
I have that but doesn't it just analyse race data after you finish? Sorry if I didn't explain properly, I want something which can tell me a rough estimate of my race time based on my race pace and pit strategy, so I can know after about 10 laps what my time will be. I could always write down the lap times and average it, multiply by laps to go and factor in say 30 seconds per stop buby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Hello. I am looking for a utility, if such exists which can calculate your final race time based on your current average lap times. I have checked on this site and cannot find such a thing, but does anyone know if this is available? Otherwise it is time to get out my calculator! I am in a GP3 league and it would save me time running different fuel loads for entire race distances to see whicby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
I just wondered what peoples favourtie GP3 tracks were? Not necessarily the ones that come with the game but those which you can download from sites like this one. Which ones do you recommend getting and why? Thanks.by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Thanks, I'll look more carefully in future!by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
This has probably been answered before so sorry if I am repeating some other dumb person! I want to install multiple GP3 2000 games so I can have more than one car set at a time, I beleive some of them overwrite data for other car sets (Ralph Hummerichs for eg). When I auto run the CD (Gp3 2000) it only gives the uninstall option. I have browsed the CD and can't see an obvious file to manby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Try ebay, if you don;t mind second hand it is really cheap for certain titles. I don't know if Monkey Island is still being produced, if you mean the original, that was released in 1991 or something.by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3

I wouldn't say it was boring, just not as exciting as usual! Oh and Montoya was running a wet setup which was why he was slow. At least that's the rumour I heard.by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Don't worry guys, Imola was a one off, the races will be closer. Imola is tough to overtake and IMHO very suited to the new Ferrari, with it's revolutionary transmission. There are lots of slow corners leading to medium length straights which are good for the F2002, the straights are not long enough for the Williams BMW grunt to become a real factor. Also Williams were having brake pby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3

Hypothetically you say? You know what hypothetical means :p Well obviously you need more downforce, fit bigger wings front and rear and you should be quicker. Assuming the surface is grippy, tarmac and not dirt then sliding is not good, but my knowledge of trolley racing is limited, so I will bow down to the guru's of trolley racing on here.by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Is there a time limit to this contest as I would like to try again but am busy until Monday?by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
FWIW here's m,y best so far Gp3 v1.13 no edits of any kind Keyboard, with auto gears and traction control 1m 28.247 - not great but I wanted to post a time, am I last? Ready to be lapped I suspect :Dby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
I'd be too scared to meet you Chris! I'd be worried about being shot or sawn in half judging by your animated gif! I live in Leeds, UK BTWby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3

Sorry to reply to my own thread but this just might help somebody. I have a cable (always on connection) so every time I play GP3 it asks if it can access the internet. Today I played with my firewall off (I know risky) and the game asked me to insert the original GP3 CD (I was using GP3 2000) I did this and no trouble but the carset I tried to use (2k2) didn;t work. I tried again with firewaby W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
No but I have bought plenty of bad games before. I did originally have a copy of GP3 but I liked it so much I bought it and then the GP3 2000 add on disk! Naughty naughty!by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
Whenever I run GP3 my firewall says it is trying to access the internet, why would it want to do this? It is the original of course, I don't copy *good* games!by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
With GP3 2000 using the 2k2 carsets the pole is usually around 1m 19.xxx on the Ace level. I prefer trying my laps in qualifying mode, gives me some good competition, if I am lucky I make the top 6 on the grid. I have yet to get a "tow" off anyone down the straights though!by W1lliams - Grand Prix 3
