Willb actually that's not mine, i just found them on youtube, i'll be getting either this or next weekend.

Fernando and Felipe in Monza decided to give it a go

apparently the demand on it brought the website down temporarily

could this be a way of Ferrari taking advantage of testing rules? lol

a review from virtual IR

it seems they took full advantage of NetKar's engine and exploded to the max

It looks and sounds great but besides not having any bumps, the wheel turning full lock for some of those corners is worrying unless it's a wheel setup thing the person did with Steering Lock.

Well the Ferrari game at least is a one-time fee :P.

No it's not, lol. Tracks are a further €10. Same as iRacings, for less quality. And you can't actually race it!

Then the "game" is 35€. iRacing I beliebe is $174 for two-years. But it offers the best simulator. Well, I don't have money to buy both games :p

Yeah, my point is you actually pay more for the content in this, for lower quality work, and far far less features.

This is €15 for just hot lapping, then €10 for another track which is at rFactor modder standards. I'm not saying iRacings cheap, I'm saying this is monumentally expensive for what it is, and nobody seems bothered.

the updates won't contain only the tracks:

"Every package includes a circuit, reproduced with Laserscan technology and a development step of the Ferrari F10, adding aerodynamic, electronic and mechanical functions, as well as software updates to improve the functionality."

Keep in mind Ferrari are selling a product with a base platform that's not theirs... If i was one of NetKar's programmers i wouldn't like somebody else making money of my product, also Ferrari probably had to finish some developpement on NetKar to reach their final platform, that cost them money as well as building the mod

There's a lot of pros and cons no doubt, and i think that the market is strictly aimed for Ferrari fans, but i think it could be worth it, you could be one of those 10 random people they choose weekley and win a cap or something worth a lot more than the whole game (jk lol)...,no but seriously, it could happen, and yes you might not be able to race against other people but you're still competing against their best effort, and there's a big price... Again unlikely that you win, but it's there..

I don't have enough money to buy iracing atm and even if i buy it, i can't say if i commit myself to it to really enjoy the potential of it, so for me this is just fine and the other reason is knowing that well, according to what they claim, this should be the closest thing to real life and you can compete against real F1 drivers laps..

Kunos is the netKar Pro developer, and he was hired by Ferrari to create this...

Again unlikely that you win, but it's there..

Well the top slots will be locked out by the usual guys. David Greco currently is top of the Italian standings and he is an ex-F3 driver. So he'll win that and get one of the drive tutoring prizes. Greger Huttu will go into the top 10, probably top overall in the World Standings, but he won't for a week or so because he's in the States doing some real world driving curtsy of iRacing. The usual people will lock out those spots and get the prizes, lol.

Those people are iRacing players too right?

David Greco has an account, but it isn't active. Greger Huttu is and is currently dominating the Road Drivers World Championship. He'll win that by miles and iRacing have already put him in a car, they just haven't said what yet.

My point is although it is awesome that Ferrari are going to put 10 people in real Ferraris (maybe not F1 cars quite yet :p), don't get your hopes up unless you are already a real racing driver, or an alien sim racer. Those guys will lock out the spots and more.

In a real car or an iRacing wip car?

Huttu is in a real car this week. Pretty sure it's the Skip Barber Racing School and Series, but they haven't confirmed it. I'd love to see what sim racers like Huttu can do in real cars. He's probably the best in the world at these games.

They also put Wyatt Gooden into the VW Jetta Cup, and amazingly he's currently leading the championship.

The best is me ^^. No just kidding, at least drivers like him know some basis of racing. But about technical knowledge, are they good too? Because being quick in a racing car is one thing, making your racing car quick and being quicker with it is another thing. No?

He's probably the best in the world at these games.

Probably? As I remember the guy started on pole for every iRacing race he entered, led every lap and won every race for months.

Pole and winning is fair enough - great racers win - but leading every lap? Every lap? That means he's never been headed into the first corner, or on the odd occasion he had, he'd retook them by the end of the first lap. No spins. No crashes. 100% perfection.

He's dominated every league he's entered. Won everything there is to be won. In any sim. "Probably" isn't a word he understands. ;)

In reality you have to beat 20, 30 maybe 40 other cars in a race. In iRacing you're aiming to beat thousands - probably tens of thousands. To do that time after time after time...

Still, I'd nearly managed to achieve the unachievable when I tried to persuade him back to GTP for VTRs first Le Mans 24hrs... I'm not sure I'd be able to step into a car he'd driven for fear of trashing it with nerves, but it would have been worth it for bragging rights alone. ;)

It's not often I'm in awe of someone, and there's nothing more frustrating than feeling you've nailed perfection and yet there's someone ahead of you going a second a lap quicker.

Maybe he should be the next Stig. ;)

I've pretty much peaked at a 58.0 dead. I can't understand how some are into the 56's. Correct me if i'm wrong, but F1 cars are driven as go-karts? You don't blend the throttle and brake in real life? They must be doing that to exploit the physics engine, I couldn't gain another 2 seconds without driving the car how it's not supposed to be driven...surely!
