I can understand that. There are some pretty cool new infected. The differences between L4D and L4D2 are not that big, and if you played the life out of L4D, then there isn't much to get in L4D2. But IMHO the big winner is the added gore. IT IS EXTREME! This is bar nothing, the most GORY game I have ever played and the effects are just awesome. I find myself laughing at the carnage quite regularly.

Portal is crazy cool, but sadly much too short.

I had enough trouble seeing it through to the end first time round, never been so underwhelmed with a game.

Currently playing Dragon Quest 9 on DS, don't usually do the whole RPG thing but this game has proved to be really good fun.

Now i'm playing original GP4, F1C and Star craft II. I'm waiting for F1 2010 from Code master.

Battlefield Bad Company 2.

GTAIV EFLC

Suprised not that many of you playing Battlefield. The singleplayer is great (what Far Cry 2 should have been considering the similarities) & the multiplayer IMO is the best (most recent) multiplayer FPS out at the moment.

Hoping BF3 won't be a console @#&*#@$%!! port!

I tried BC2 on the PC. It was garbage. Look crap, sounded crap, ran like crap, spent the entire time trying to rip off MW2 and the characters annoyed the hell out of me.

BC2 has it's annoyances but no way it sounded like crap as it has the best audio of any game ever! Yes ever, I've played many games in the last 10 years but it's the first game that comes close to DVD movie 5.1 quality. Make sure you run audio options as "wartapes" or homecinema".

Make sure you have Vista or Windows 7, a soundcard, & a DirectX 10 video card. If you installed on XP then you will only get DX9.

MW2 IMO is a generation behind.

My setups top notch. But even if I had a NASA super computer it wouldn't turn those piss poor textures into something acceptable to modern standards.

Nice review Dave but I have to say I actually really enjoyed BC2, especially the online play, I found it much more enjoyable than MW2, but that is just my personal preference

Just a bump here to say that L4D2 is cheap on Steam at the moment (£15), and with the closure of APB I decided to get it. It still wouldn't call myself a fan yet, but my previous review was far too harsh. It may be very close to L4D, but having now played a bit more of it, I can feel it's moved on more than I thought.

I'll keep plugging away and see how I feel later.
