EA don't use ISI engines anymore

Don't know why people are getting excited over it. It'll just be the same engine they are using for the NASCAR games, which is an insult to motorsport fans.

PS3's F1 game is an even bigger insult, so really they can't do much worse....

Also they don't nessecarily need the FIA License, just release a game with all fake drivers except Lewis Hamilton.

I used to think that, but EAs latest NASCAR games are "team" based, where you swap into other cars to push your own and puts the incentive on delbratly causing accidents and getting points for drafting and crashing.

It's like they took Flatout and put a real series into it. It's awful.

exactly what i was thinking. anyone who has edited teh Madden series on teh PC will know everything is teh exact same format on the 08 as it was in 2002, evidenced by teh fact that teh madden2002 editors will work flawlessly with the 08 version.

it will be F1C with a few graphics updates and some physisc tweaks at best

There wasn't an awful lot wrong with the graphics of F1C, it was just the horrendously stupid AI that made the game unplayable offline.

Nope, as long as all the Drivers and Team names are different except Lewis Hamilton, and maybe McLaren, and they use fake liveries/sponsors. I can think of a number of games in the past that has done that, GP1 did it, Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2 did it, GPRM is apparantly going to do it (If it ever gets released!) Probably alot more out there, just can't remember right now!

Their last F1 games were dire, just like most of their other games. Still, here's hoping they see sense and have a good look at what made games like GP4 so good.

The main reason i hope for a EA game is because imo rFactor is not amazing for the current F1 cars. Anything quicker than the champcars in rF is abit akward to race with.

But then step into a touring car and/or a slower single seater mod like the Formula BMW's and the racing is so much more fun.

The only F1 mod I have is the CTDP one, and I only really hot lap in it.

It's not a good mod to talk about the gameplay since the physics are well known to be well off ;)

I assume your refering to the Cart 06 mod my idt. which is worse than any other grip wise. No way can you run around indy with no wings at 400+ kph.

Their last game was Gold Encrusted compared to Sony's efforts ;)

I actually did this mistake yesterday and really bought this game when I saw it for cheaper price..

Handling is really samekind as in 2001 version wich my bro have for ps2. Car goes like on rails but when it gets even small touch from other car it handles like wooden box when kicking it.. Slides are really unlogical and reminds about some old PSone arcade games..

Graphics were partly positive suprise but some things were slightly disturbing.. Heat-haze just disappears when car moves even 1 inch. Game is partly made so dark that car would need headlights and only way how you are able to turn into corners is following corner indicators (1 of driving help thingies). 3d models looks "ok" but for example helmet is like shaped with axe.. Helmet also doesnt want to shine at all even if car is really glowing. Game have this typical PS3 graphics effect wich is throwing so much blur to every place that it hurts eyes (is Gran Turismo HD only game with this @#$%&???)..

AI pilots are more worse than even in rFactor. They drive happily and slow on their rails.. If you stop on track it sometimes it causes that none of them even tries to pass you wich is bit weird.

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

I wasnt reffering to its physics, just that anything quicker than them to drive on rf gets abit akward to race.

whether the physics are off or not i dont care, with a game were NEVER going to get the feel of what its like, we can try adjust the physics to get the same lap times on the same tracks as the real cars but that doesnt make the physics good.

the grip is silly for what it probably should be, but it feeles fun and it is fun and the textures and models are very good :)

Textures and models are done by Dave and Nick, so yes they are good, the rest done by iDT. sucks.

The laps times arent close to real times at all. just wait to the cart98 mod comes out, everyone is going to be blown away by how awesome it is

The problem with the front wing at Indy is more of an rFactor problem than a mod problem. The front wing at the superspeedways didn't produce downforce, all they did was clean up the air. So if you set that in rFactor, when you lose it it reduces the weight, reduces the drag and doesn't effect the downforce.

CART98 used to suffer from it and still might well do. Its annoying, but these games cant simulate real life perfectly.
