Microsoft has outsourced the repairing of the X-Box 360s due to the massive amount they get per week that are getting the 3 Red Rings Of Death.

That'll go down soon, the new falcon unit hasn't had any proven reports of the 3RROD problem so any repairs are basically upgrading them to the falcon units nowadays.

By Core do you mean the Arcade one? By the way, you could try selling your broken XBox on e-bay or to some shops as they could use the working parts and spare bits on repair.

I believe the arcade consoles are guaranteed (might want to check though) to have the latest hardware so if you want to buy a new one and already have a hdd that's probably the way to go.

what do you mean ? Buy a arcade one. And put my Premium stuff in it?

Or just buy a new Premium one..?

Arcade is basically the Core console renamed, and the Premium console has been renamed Pro But yeah you should be fine as long as your Hard Drive didn't get wet and still works. Wireless controllers work in any 360 console regardless, same deal with cables. The only difference you will have is that the Arcade console has a white fronted CD drive, and the Pro has Silver Fronted. woopie...

So to sum up, you can transfer the Hard Drive, Wireless Controllers and cables from your old Premium to your new one no problem at all.

Yes, those are the only differences. The arcade consoles should have all the latest hardware (less likely to RROD) as well, which is what I was trying to say yesterday.

Think the Arcade has 5 free Arcade games when you buy it too, and a 256MB Memory card. Hence why its now called Arcade Power won't make a difference Gui as the basic components are exacly the same components, including the Power Supply, as the Pro and the Elite units. Microsoft would be a bit dumb to let people put hard drive's on their Arcade units and supply a sub-standard Power Supply

[EDIT] Oh and because its the Arcade it means it has a HDMI port on it now.

But when you buy a xbox do you get a free month of live gold ? or is it only with a new acount ?

I think it's when you get a Pro or Elite version, why don't you continue with your old account and ring MS to say you just bought a new system? Maybe then you can get a free month. Or stop paying for the old account and setup a new one. My ex-roomie can still login from his previous account that was supposedly suspended due to lack of payment (6)
