Formula One 07 is the official Formula One game for the 2007 F1 season. However, it is currently not known who the final developer will be. Sony's exclusive right to make F1 games since 2003 ended with the 2006 season. It is rumoured that from 2007 and onwards EA Sports might receive the exclusive rights to make F1 games, but Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will also be looking to renew their deal. There have been several rumours that SCEE has turned down the new license and stating that EA Sports will be the new developer, however, this has yet to be confirmed.

Well, EA is a big company, but don't know if they are so good at doing simulators...they do know something about arcade games (nfs-series), not alot, but when it comes to simulators, that's another story. I don't want Sony to do a game, and neither do ea, i would prefer that sim-bin or don't know, even a new grand prix (5) to be made. EA just doesn't have their way with simulators. There are a lot of companies that do awsome car sim., (richard burns rally, gtr 1 and 2, maybe wtcc and rfactor), but EA just don't have it in their blood. If they do one, i think i'm still gonna play gp4, but who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.

I really hope it isnt either of them!! EA's circuits were really unaccurate for a start, let alone the twitchy handling, and the wheel spinning at the starts of the race like it was pre 2001!

tell me, do you like the following games, all "done" by EA.

F12000 Championship edition
F12000
F12001
F12002
F1C 99-02
Nascar Thunder 2004.
Nascar Thunder 2003.

cos if you think they "suck" and they do, you dont want the people whom made rFactor doing a F1 Sim, as they are one and the same.

as for simbin... i wasnt impressed with there GTR. could not get into it. not sure why tbh. i heard its a real good game. but just not for me. so i cant comment. and RBR @#$%& rocks! so yeah they can make a F1 SIM anytime they like. but i dont see it happening.

Yeah, i agree, RBR is the best rally sim on the market, but as you said, i can't see them making a f1 sim...wich is too bad...thb. But I really would like to see another gp game (more than any mod for rFactor), because grand prix games were, and maybe still are the best f1 sims on the market. But, till the new f1 game will appear for PC (from who know what company), we either debate on how ea sucks at making simulators (lol), or just play what we have, and wait. This is my opinion, fell free to judge it. :)

we wont ever see a GP5 as Synergy, geoff crammonds company went bust iirc.

i dont know, back in its day GP2/3/4 were really awsome, but now i have moved onto games that dont feel like they are on rails. and i tried GP4 about 2 months back. was boring as batshit :(

I would much rather F1 07 be a EA release on different platforms than just a Sony release on the PS3

Yup same.

An F107 on PC may be a bad game, but its something new to develop on :)

I agree with you, chet. It would have been nice to have something new.

The problem is, i doubt any future EA F1 game will have been made by ISI, who were really the only people propping the series up. Who else can make them a decent game, short of giving Geoff Crammond a suitcase of cash?

With the right people, any big games company should be able to turn out a great F1 sim. Unfortuantely, both EA and Sony seem to not have the best people.

you dont even need "the right people" as such, all you need is development time. and not just rush out crap unpolished games.

yeah, you are wright here, EA doenst care about that, they only care about the money. For instance, need for speed uses the same engine from underground to carbon...and if they are gonna make another f1, maybe they will use f1c engine lol...

Whoever makes it, I want it for all formats, or at least the 360 and PC, because that's what I have!

I'd rather EA make it than Sony, but I'd prefer neither of them to do it, someone Simbin or maybe Codemasters would be better.

the game engines are what need refreshing completely. all the other petty bits graphically speaking will just get upped by a strong community. surely the big companies know how strong this input is, thats how come rFactor has grown so rapidly.

not really Danm.

Physics play more of a part. especially in Racing games/simulations.

i would rather a game with awsome driving model and crap graphics (well not to crap ;) ) than a super pretty one with crappy driving model
