evolution gt problem cd rom

When i insert the dvd evolution gt game into the dvd rom, it says : ' Please insert the Evolution GT CD ROM.'
But this is a dvd rom game, why does it asks for cd rom? And there is only one disc.

HELP please!

yes, i installed but when i double click the starter.exe , it shows the same message.
When i double click the EGT.exe it starts the game , but ingame it says one of the files is missing or corrupted , and i must re-install..

HELP?!

mate from what ur've told me... take ur burnt Cd/dvd, get a pen/knife and scratch it
then go and buy the real thing
and then go and see if you get that message

a real true copy of the game won't come up with errors like that
and quick google search shows no-one else has had a problem like this
so wat are we meant to think from what ur've told us?

ok seeing u bought the legit game.. so it looks like lol
i suggest finding a no-cd crack/patch off the net somewhere and trying it and seeing what happens
if then the game loads id be taking the game back...

*disclaimer*
as gp3 has obviously bought the game, the no-cd crack is only being used to test if he has a faulty dvd or not and by no means does this support illegal copying of software as seen by the comments above

Legit CDs can just as easily have read errors. Most likely it's the CD/DVDROM simply being unable to read this particular disk. It does happen. Chances are another DVDROM wouldn't have this issue.

As for the message saying it can't read the 'CD', it's just a generic message. It doesn't mean the drive is seeing this as a CD rather than a DVD.
