which will be more similulation? logic tells me race, seeing as though its a specific series therefore has concentrated physics etc.

Colin McRae had concentrated physics too. Mario Kart too.

While I'm not a fan of the ISI-based physics engine, and never have been, they're not even closely aimed at the same crowd.

Ohhh, so which in your opinion would be a better sim? out of rF and Race?

Its a @#$%& name that, for a racing game =/

It could be seen as a command though, RACE! Well, I guess those who studied foreign languages (perhaps romance ones) will get the joke ;)

As far as I know Simbin gets a limited version of rFactor's engine, but unlike ISI, Simbin works to get everything working in its games (rain, moving hands in GTR 2 for example) while paying attention to the details of whatever they do. Their product truly is a finished and well-tweaked one, while ISI developed a base and left most of the higher echelon of its engine left to be tweaked at a later time or taken advantage of by a talented group of modders.

So I imagine if you settle for just 10 tracks out of the box, and not very nice cars then you will be very happy with RACE as it will probably work very well and seem very good.

I've got GTR2 and I am enjoying it. Racing with the AI is especially satisfying most of the time, and doing a three hour race with an AI driver doing a stint is really rewarding.

I'm also looking forward to Race.

I can understand that, but what is more awsome is doing a race with another person, that goes for about 6 hours, i have done alot of these races and they are great.

okay i only had a few mins at the game, but i couldnt drive out of the pits, it did it itself.. wtf is that? the car felt like it was floating along and not there. i dunno it just felt wrong.

the menus are @#$%& awful to

Look in the menu to untick the tab that says the AI control the pits

So far so good, really liking this more than rFactor :) (GTR 2 is a finished game). The cars are nice to drive, I put it on veteran and have been trying my luck without any aids from the beginning and it's nice how you can slide and still catch the car (sometimes) and how you have to pay attention to very quick and rough accelerating as the back may go wild :D.

Love to drive the Lamborghini (the one I use the most) because its cockpit is very nice, you get to see a lot of the road as well as the mirror, but I really want to try more of the Maserati, it's a beauty! Shame you can't see the left mirror at all but it feels awesome. I'll love the day I can play GTR 2 for long periods of time, will have a go at the championship!
