I got it, it's actually pretty good. The graphics look much better when you play the game for yourself. And for the people wondering why the graphics look so 'bad' is that there are 22 cars AT A TIME, not overall. GT looks so good because it only has 6 cars at a time.

Is it true that the computer takes over when you reach the grid on the formation lap?

Yeah. The computer lines you into your grid slot.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the screenshots are no indication at all of how it looks, which is a lot better, but not good.

Its alot of fun! And a massive improvment over previous games.

in regards to the actual f1 2006 game it's pretty worrying when you consider this is on a PS2 and f1'97 on the n64 looks better

Kaid, have you played F106?

As people have said these screens are far from real representation of how it looks...

and it looks the best F1 game ive ever played on PS2, and thats the lot of them.

Got it, the games handling is good and the game in general is good for Ps2 standards but I have one annoying problem - the helmets are all discoloured unless your right next to the car in question. It was never this bad before - really drives me up the wall!

Yeah i have played it and i know those pics don't represent the real quality of the game. But f1 2001 got far better special effects, better models etc. Just look at the helmets and the t-cam views

Helmets for sure are better, but the tracks are nowhere near the quality of F106, and we have to rememeber the new cars are very niggly, rounded and sprout a billion wings ;-) Plus the physics on 2001, was ermm... well one word to put it is @#$%&! lol F106 physics have some feel to it. What im implying is that the extra calculations the PS2 would have to make ;-)

Special effects take up memory, which SL have used for other things in the game.

Said who? The license expires, that doesn't mean they won't renew it. It is afterall a money spinner for them.
