Thought I'd have a thread where we all pick our favourite fictional circuits from racing games over the years. They can be circuits based on real roads and areas as long as they aren't used in real-life as a race circuit, and also can be standard from the game or an addon created after release.

My favourites would have to be:
Bandon Park (GP2/3) - Possibly my favourite track of all time. Not particularly fast but it can be very unforgiving in the second half of the lap.

El Capitan (GT4) - Crests, dips, long-flowing bends. A joy to drive in any car.

Westhill (LFS) - Another flowing course, doesn't suit the way I drive at all but it's sure as hell a pleasure to drive.

Alpine Climb (ToCA 2) - I couldn't decide between this and a lot of the other fictional circuits on ToCA 2 but this one felt the most real to me. Very good drive in both the BTCC cars and the Lister Storm.

Anyone else care to share...?

Blue Mountain for GPL. It has a bit of everything - jumps, fast corners, slow corners, long corners, short corners, tricky unforgiving sections, and a section thats "is it flat, isnt it flat".

Also the Bullrun for Papys NASCAR games gets a thumbs up too.

Recently i've become a great fan of the limerock park mountain course for GPL, the circuit that could have been, it has both uphill and downhill corners and braking zones, some very fast bits which require commitment and a hairpin which you go barreling into, brake stupidly late and usually still make the corner!

The longest Aston track on LFS. I think it's Aston Historic but can't remember the name now. Got a mini eau rouge (spelling) and loads of other great corners.

Tsarkoye Selo (GP3) - promoted a lot of AI overtaking :)

On a related note, what would you all say the best set of fictional tracks are? For me Belini's GP2 tracks are all fantastic creations (although I've only ever experienced them in their converted GP form.

I agree on Bandon Park, that was awesome. I also really enjoyed Bern-Grauholz (sp?), which was made for GP2 and then updated for GP3. I remember narrowing the chicane using trackedit for GP2 - made it that much more knife-edge :)

YES, Bern-Grauholz!! How could I forget that one, so much creative effort went into the track. It was one of the most unusual - but fantastic - tracks for GP3.

wow

i remember this track, for GP2, it was stunning :D from what i remember reading in the readme, he only made the track to test things, and he managed to get it so u can see the cars going over that bridge after T1 and other things i cant quite remember

Yeah, you could see them racing over the bridge in the background - something which GP3 itslef never fully achieved. The pitlane was underground, you emerged from a tunnel on to the track, straight into a banked corner - then down the hill under the bridge, and into a cobbled dogleg chicane! :) Probably the best start to a track ever designed lol.
