Got this today, updated it via the 800mb patch, now its a 64 BIT game with extra content and its runs mega smooth now it makes use of the 64 bit technology :)

You have 64 bit windows?
Or can you use the 64 patch thing if you have normal windows but a 64 processer?

The AMD64 version of Far Cry is now available for the new Windows® XP Professional x64 Edition operating system. The AMD64 version is an upgrade that installs on top of the retail, boxed version and gives you an enhanced Far Cry experience. The free AMD64 upgrade supports both single- and multi-player modes. With an AMD64 processor and the new Windows® XP Pro x64 operating system, you can now enjoy Far Cry with additional content, higher frame rates, enhanced textures, longer view distances, and more objects with real-time physics.

Seems both are required

Ls, from what uve seen so far is this update worth it? for the textures update mostly. Since Pixel and vertex shaders 3.0 are already in the normal 1.3 patch

Grpahically its better of course, their are textures present in the 64 bit version that are'nt there in the 32 bit version.

Also you get extra levels exclusive included in the 800mb patch

I've heard that there is a way to get the content of the x64 patch into the x32 version of Windows. A simple Google finds the process you need to follow.

it does look amazing, but something is offsomehow. Almost like every object is too individual, so it doesnt quite look like the real world, yet.
