Reduced video memory usage, and automatic texture reduction if video memory is filled to capacity. An in-game usage meter is also provided.
Many graphics optimizations including shadows and headlights. Go ahead, try Max Shadow Detail.
Basic administrator features for the dedicated server. Additional features in future updates.
New information displayed in Replay Fridge (driver names, lap times, speed, etc.).
New expanded and accurate results files which will be compatible with RaceCast XML parsers.
Much reduced tendency for AIs to rear end the player, and many other AI improvements. They have been given a firm warning about their recent behavior.
Blue flag and full-course yellow improvements and changes.
In-game field of view (FOV) option.
Improved online play including additional collision checks to prevent remote vehicles from appearing to go through walls., most notable at Joesville and the rFactor 400.
New track layout: Sardian Long, a very challenging city course that requires patience to allow the rhythm of the circuit to unfold. Requires stamina.
Tons of bug fixes and miscellaneous improvements

"Shortly" is the release date. Good news about the flag rules which were a bit dodgy.

After this we can return our attention to cleaning up the some more of the tools. I

What issue was that in??? I'm an avid reader of PC Gamer but don't recall seeing it...was it in the UK version????

I gotta say i got a good feeling about rFactor...only played with the F3 mod and havent had time to venture online yet, but it all looks promising!

demo? Cool :) I don't have time for it to be worth getting the full one at the moment and sifting through all the crap that is released, but a demo should be good :)

The US editors obviously like their racing games more than the UK ones, because other than GTR nothing has really scored as well as it should. I remember UK PC Gamer and PC Format saying "NR2003 physics are good, but not the best."

But if they liked GTR, I cant see them not liking rFactor.

I remember when GP4 came out it got 93%.....yeah i don't think they are huge fans of it....If memory serves me correctly the guy who wrote the review visited these forums a few times and got a bit of a slating, mainly because GP4 was nowhere near finished....long time ago though lol

Reviewers tend to know nothing tbh. GPL got a low score because it had no music whilst driving. Some idiot who drive NR2003 complained about putting tape on the car being unrealistic and that nascars would never pull left on there own

all hardcore sims get bad scores because the reviewers arent specialists
