When do I state that someone else on there xBox is acting as a `master` server? What I said was you still rely on the community (i.e other people on there xBox 360s) to host game servers within xBox live. In the case of online play xBox Live acts as the central `master` server allowing people to connect with other xBox 360s in a nice simple fashion, without a `in between` people would find themselves having to connect via IP.

Whether the reason they have shifted record sales in 2 days is because they have built up more stock than the 360 had on launch is unknown but they've shifted more units than people seem to be giving them credit for.

Right, now you explain like that I'm seeing where your coming from
But yeah along with Headset channels thats is the point of Xbox Live, to make it all nice and simple 
With the PS3 however, it just works the same as a PC does with their online systems. Still works but just not as simple and not as easy to use.
Well the PS3 has been the most sucsessful Console release ever over here apparantly, selling the most compared to any console ever released, but that's obvious as nearly every other console sold out immediatley as most of the time they try a global release, whereas Sony have had a 3 month leg up to stockpile the PAL units for the UK

These numbers come directly from the retailers EPOS system at the end of the days sales that subscribe to the service. Sony have no influence on the figures.

Sony have been saying the same thing world over keiran, and even stating that they would pay people a thousand us dollars for each console they found on a shelf. well a company found abut 16 of them in 3 stores.

Don't want to be an intruder, but everything made by japan, is alien tehnology man. Even now, no game for ps2 can be run on pc with a constant of 40-50fps, and remember that ps2 has 16mb video card, and about 500mhz, if i remember. PS3, well is the next gen console, everyone says that the xbox 2(360) games are cooler and look better, but xbox is out for 1 year and some months, if im not wrong, but still, wait another year, and then see the true potential of ps3, just wait until a game appears on bluray, now that will be one hell of a game. Xbox 2 doesn't suck, it's only a weaker console (ok maybe it sucks a little bit), but still, remember, that PS3 DOES supports DX10, while xbox 360 DOESN'T. So keep that in mind, before saying ps3 sucks, or isn't any good, PS3 RULZ

Got a source for that? everywhere I've read says PS3's gfx card is less powerful than the 360's but the CPU is more powerful in the PS3 and also says both consoles can only work at DirectX 9. Crysis back this up by saying both 360 and PS3 can't handle it due to the lack of DirectX 10 support on both. [www.joystiq.com]
