Yeah I use one, you tried the settings I posted on VT forum?

i have to say it really felt so nice whenever i pittted for new tyres.

i especially felt it in the hairpin and slow bottom section at the start of the lap.

so are we doin this again or??

I don't race with a FF wheel matt so can't comment on it :) It could just be due to the fact that i've hardly raced rF, done several hours of testing at Daytona over the past few days.

I don't think you can compare GTP to the ZRs really though tbh.... at the end of the day a GTP car has big fat wide slick tyres, the ZRs have £2 remoulds on them ;) Until we get the games "like for like" it's going to be difficult to judge. When there's GTP mod for rF with the Daytona Road Course, then i'll compare :)

Not yet no, but I've tried a few settings from RSC, which improved it a good bit.

It's nothing critical... it's just where I might give NR2003 90% for FF, I'd give rF 75% at the moment. It's the only real negative for me, and hardly a big one at that.

@ matthewp

Would you be so kind and post those Logitech settings here too. Would love to give them a go.

Ok lengthy post ;) (i'm using the racing force btw, should be fine for the other logitech ffb wheels though)

Firstly in the global settings in the logitech profiler set overall strength and spring strength to 97%
Damper effect to 0%
centering spring force ticked but at 0%

Then go to the steering wheel specific settings, set sensitivity to 75% (although that one is more down to youre preference than anything)
Deadzone 2%
range 100%

The PLR and controller.ini files are both in you're rfactor->userdata->yourname folders, open them with notepad.
first of all in you're .PLR file turn off the equivelant of GPLs low speed steering hack:
Steer Ratio Speed="0.00000"
This is the force feedback section of my Controller.ini think this should cover all the settings I got from RSC

Got to say I was surprised with the high quality of the driving, both in terms of pace and in terms of dealing with traffic. In the past in GPL and GTP when we've arranged a race just by posting on this forum and let anyone turn up its been a complete mess but there was none of that it was really clean. Maybe we should have another one sometime :)

Ye, and hopefully I won't get hit off at the first corner, and then one turn later there won't be a Neil sitting in the track :p

My pace wasn't too bad, and when I was going the right way I was probably about 6th or 7th fastest, but my first pitstop (on lap 1) was so long, about 10s longer than Neils, and he was faster, so it meant I had a gap of about 50s to the next person that I was faster than. Was going to be a long race...

I was really bricking it in the first start because my controller had lost all FFB so it was all floppy. I was actually asking for a restart before the warp happened, cos it would be race over for me :(

With FFB back though, things didn't really go to plan when I went a tad wide on the exit of the turn 1 section, bouncing off the wall and across the track. This really did screw up my car and race, but more importantly, Baz got caught up in it too :( Realllllllllly sorry about that, because it pretty much screwed your race up.

The car was quite @#$%& though for the race, because on new tyres a mid 46 was a stunning lap. After loosing so much time though 7th wasn't too bad of a finish. Quite annoying though I spun so much early on, yet managed to push like buggery for the last 40 mins without a mistake to close a 30 sec gap to Koop, and battle with a few other cars too.

For me, the back markers were pretty good, except in one case in the last 40 mins (wont mention names) when I got really held up for several laps. Tried flashing the lights, beeping the horn to which he beeped it back!

The blue flags are a bit dodgy though I thought. Once I had Chet behind me for position, and Rich lapping Chet. Thats when I got the blue flags, but Rich hadn't passed Chet yet so I kept on the pace, but got a stop and go because I passed too many blue flags. It seems the only option is to loose the positon and then retake it :(

Still, the day to night transition was great. Driving in semi light is pretty tricky though, but the way the game does shadows is simply stunning :-o

Ye, the flags are @#$%&. I only remembered after we started, and really they need to be turned off. The blue flag men are too eager to get waving. There wasn't really much either of us could have done about that first section crash though Neil. You were there, and there was a guy to my left, so I had nowhere to go. Still, it gave me the chance to learn the track a bit, and get used to concentrating for longer spells. The fact I was chasing though meant I kept trying to push that little bit too hard.

We should do it again though, and maybe try and get a bigger grid. I know if it wasn't on a Wednesday or Thursday I might be able to get more interest in it. If we had 20-30 cars lapping round for a couple of hours I'm sure everyone would be kept busy!

would be great with that amount, although it was a pretty decent turnout as it was for a race like that.
Didnt know you got stop & gos if you pass to many blue flags, can you turn that off but have them still display the flags?

ye, they still display

just no penalties for ignoring them. so we'd have to rely on people using common sense.

yeah the blue flags was a pain - there were times when all i could do was follow cause if i overtook i'd only have to let back pass and then there were guys behind me who if they didnt get blues i would have just let go :(

I wondered why people were diving out of my way as soon as i let them back past... :/ that does kinda suck really so we'll have to scrap the stop gos next time :)

I'd be up for another race sometime - perhaps make it 4.8 hours this time with a 5x time scale? ;)

yeah well after my second or third stop - i could only manage 15 lap stints :( i was a minute behind and a minute ahead so didnt really have anything to drive for until i got lapped and had something to chase

:O well i planned for full 29 lap stints but each time i think i could only manage 24 laps.

I did a shorter first stint of 25 to close the Gap on Gav because we were all losing so much time on the old tyres, then middle stint was the max I could run (think 29 or 30)
