As I mentioned in the other thread, it would be great if we could have a 2 hour endurance race round Toban, with a 24 hour time scale, so we can race with full day to night to day transitions.

Off the top of my head, this is what I suggest:

- ZR mod to keep it a level playing field, and put more on driver skill and less on how good you are at making setups.

- Disable invulnerability and spin recovery.

- Set damage to 50% which should allow you to continue from a large accident.

- Toban 24hr track.

Wednesday 28th Sep @ 8pm UK time - that will be 7pm GMT

- 1 hour practice.

- 12 laps qualifying.

Following week, Wednesday 5th Oct @ 7:30pm UK time - that will be 6:30pm GMT

- 30 min warm-up session

- 2 hour race, with everything time scaled for a 24 hour race, except fuel and tyre usage obviously.

- Race start time set to 12am so we should have a good 30 mins racing before it starts to get dark.


That's about everything I've thought of so far, although I haven't yet worked out if you can change the practice, qually and warm-up session length, or change the fact qually will be at night, and warm-up in semi light. Thankfully though, I do know where the grid editor is so it can be split over the 2 weeks to ease the sore arse you'd have otherwise ;)

The only other thing I guess needs to be decided is do we go for a standing, rolling, or formation lap into a standing start???

Think that's everything, although having only played rFactor online once there are probably loads of things I've missed :P

Formation would be nice, but in such an organised race it would be a shame if it took 4 attempts to get going, or whatever... I'm not fussed though.

Definately up for it, seeing as its quite a long race i'd go for a rolling start, not too bothered though. Really eager to try some league racing in rfactor, from what i've seen so far the netcode looks brilliant, especially the collision detection (i.e. you dont get launched into space when you touch another car :) )

I'm up for it, I havn't had a good night race yet!

I'll be moving to uni at the start of october though, so race day will be a bit iffy (what with freshers week and all), but I will qualify and try and make the race!

What times are best for you?

I just picked a Weds because thats the VT race date and we aren't racing yet until the next season starts. The 8pm came from it being a 2hr race, and finishing at 10pm was quite a nice time without being too late.

Maybe we could try after qualifying (since we race the following week) a formation lap and standing start just to get the hang of it, and if it all goes tits up just use a rolling start.

Yeah, I have to work till 11pm local time so therefore I can't race earlier.

But maybe I can race with you later this year, as after two weeks I'll be without work the rest of the year. :)

Oh yeah, can rfactor do pre - defined grids, or are we going to have to join in server order for the race (cos we know how dodgy thats gonna be).

I think we should do a rolling start, since its more "lemansy" (and I'm sure we can't run across the track to our cars at the start.

yep whoever has admin rights can alter the grid I believe :) (makes a nice change from GPL)

I've set the server up for this now. There is currently no password on it.

The settings are as per the original post. Except it's not possible to change the speed multiplier to 12x (ie. 2hrs = 2x12 = 24hrs) so it's technically only a 20 hours race (10x) that starts at 2pm, and finishes at 10am. I have it set up for a rolling start, and with a whole bunch of aids allowed.

If you can't connect then make sure you have the ZRGP mod!

That's OK, it probably wont make any difference other than we'll loose about 20 mins of racing during the day.
