Surely having a car which looks like it hasnt been @#$%& up the arse by an elephant (like yours) is more important?

Is it just me or does that reflect each poly individually?

Seems to reflect each poly relatively accurately - it's just that there are so few polys in some areas that they're pointing in completely different directions.

And just to stem the controversy a bit, I'm not having a go - that's constructive critism - I'm happy there's new stuff coming out for rFactor, and as people get more and more used to techniques and demands, their talents and work will improve too. Been the same way throughout the sim-racing community for well over a decade now. Modders who see critism just need to see it as a constructive, and rather than reacting to it, they should respond.

Personally, rFactor is going through a period of inactivity. Those who can't really mod (me for example - haven't got a clue in 3ds Max) are waiting for full mods, and those who are modding are releasing things car by car. You can really see the experienced modders (The US Pits for example), who are holding back until they've got a full mod before release, and aren't just pumping out individual things bit at a time.

I'm keeping on track of stuff, but my demands and commitments lie elswhere at the moment. I was chatting to another earlier, and he said the same - he was seeking other sims to tide him over until something that really grabbed him came out. I haven't driven an rF lap since the last GPG race at Lime Rock Park, when my MOMO pedals gave up the ghost... have to see what these new ones are like sometime.

Its not low poly its the problem, its the normals. You can get a smooth relfection with low poly counts if you can do normals

But this car doesnt, the verts are all broken

Yes, he is threatening you. Because he is a mod and is able to make you stfu.

We do not insult you, we say "your" cars are poor, because they are. We give constructive critisim - like fix the normals on that car.
