theres was an older video featuring the formula cars, this is a different one

EDIT: just finished watching it, the graphics really do look superb the lighting especially is gorgeous, no screenshots i've seen do it justice.
The sounds are also quite impressive, they all seem to be AI cars so cant make any judgements on the physics.

Great video, I cant wait for this game.

Looks and sounds stunning. It's made me really sit up and take notice of rFactor, whereas before I was content with just LFS. I agree with Matt though, the AI looked a bit lost at times, but I won't judge it until I play it for myself. This video is still showing an unfinished game imo.

Im surprised people are saying the lighting is stunning from watching that video. the tracks look great, i agree, but in that video the cars dont darken under shadows. The only thing the cars have is basic reflections

Its clearly unfinished and they will obviously address that issue (if the current build doesnt already have it implemented), but theres still quite a bit to go

Sound and speed look brilliant though. AI is a bit odd at times but it looks a step forward from rpevious ISI AI which was crap.

I think the comments about the lighting are towards the fact that instead of looking flat like in F1C, GPL, gp4, Nascar etc they look more like rendered objects overall, cars scenery etc.

It has more of a 3d look to that i've certainly not seen before

I wasnt playing close attention to how accurate the lighting was, just everything looks very natural and convincing at first glance.

hm duno LS. Looks ALOT better than previous ISI efforts tho i'll agree, but that was clear from the first multiplayer demo.

but thats just track lighting and enviroment. They seem to have gotten that pretty spot on. Cars will be done because we've already seen screens of pure darkness racing where there is real lighting effects, they just either havent finished them for that video, or turned them off (which i doubt, you dont turn off stuff for press stuff)

time will tell, but so far so good

TBH, I couldn't give a flying **** what the graphics are like... all I want is a good graphics infrastructure, because can you imagine what the modders could do with a decent platform to build on, with the high-res textures and tweaks they usually manage?

I'll admit, I wasn't as blown away with this vid as people had led me to believe mind

I noticed the shadows too. But the cars do look so much better than in F1C. The movement is more realistic (like GP4 rather than that floaty look you get in F1C) and the lighting is really good (except the shadows obviously). Interesting that they've taken the arms out. Maybe you can enable them in the game (you could disable them in F1C). I kind of like the arms really.

As for AI, it's far better than the F1 series. Look how the cars actually stay on the track when they get passed.

Sound in the video is bad, but the actualy engine sounds themselves are great. THey sound just like real F1 cars.
