Just started playing GPL and am finding it tough going to say the least. I can't stand using any driver aids and would rather play the game "au naturel." Do you guys have any tips or know of any guides to getting to grips with these cars?

Practice is key. If you keep at it, you will get better. Try to stick to the priority of driving the car, and then racing it. That slogan puts you at the right edge, where you push without being too reckless. And do remember that ALL the fast GPL'ers out there have crashed the car hundreds if not thousands of times.

The thing about playing GPL is that whenever you play another racing game again, you start lifting off a tad when changing gears :D

The only bad thing about it is it does make GP4 seem a little crap and boring in comparison :( But then for some reason GP3 seems better than GP4 too - why is that?

Also, thanks for Cooper info :)

There's just too much grip in GP4 - OK, it's realistic, but it does take a lot of the fun out of it.

You're right that GP4 pales into insignificance after you've played GPL for a while. GPL puts a huge smile on your face. It's easy to see why even 7 years after its release, it's still attracting fans.

That was difficult. Amazon is amazing

Anyway, I agree GP3 is better than GP4, it feel more 'seat of your pants', like you're really pushing, while gp4 is....mneh. GPL even more so (seat of pants) but its taking me a long time ot get anywhere. Course, with KB it aint easy, but if Tez managed it....

Even before playing GPL, I found the changing from GP3 to GP4 wasn't as good :-/ The brakes are too good and everything. Maybe if I got a physics patch it would be better?

BTW, incase anyone is interested in getting GPL, I got mine recently from www.mx2.co.uk <-for uk site or www.mx2.com <- for choice of nationality site.

You can get it for £3.99 :) It is being sold by "sold out" now, and is therefore readily available :) Even if they say the game is not in stock, they said that to me, however it arrived not long after the other thing I ordered at the time that was in stock (ie if they say it is not in stock, keep with the order and don't panic).

Cheers, Daniel
