Hey, I've got a question about GP500. About a month ago I had this need for playing old games and I installed GP500 on WinXP virtual machine. To make the game run smoothly I had to disable sound hardware acceleration (the sounds now lags behind, but somehow I got used to it) and everything seemed to work fine with the exception of a very annoying and unpredictable speed-up that sometimes happens. The game accelerates for a split second to I don't know, let's say 5 to 10 times the normal speed and if that happens anywhere but on the straight my lap / race is f*cked up. Has anyone got a solution for this?

For XP I think nobody was able to find a solution to that problem, but since you have a virtual machine installed I would recommend that you install windows 98 which is the operating system on which gp500 works without problems.
if you do, tell us how it has gone.
luck

Hi, just a little update. I don't have as much free time as I would wish but I'm trying to get a win98se virtual machine running. The main problem I have seems to be lack of 3D support by virtualization software. The first configuration I tried was VirtualBox + Scitech Display Doctor graphic drivers + nGlide and it didn't work. Out of 4 games, Moto Racer 2, World Superbike Championship, GP500 and GrandPrix 3, the first 2 didn't start at all, GP500 started and immediately exited with "Unable to init 3d system" error and GP3 was to my surprise actually running (I only did one quick race and everything seemed fine, only graphic settings and FPS were on the low side). Today I switched from before mentioned configuration to VMware Workstation 15 Player + nGlide and I get the same error in GP500. Gonna do some more googling but I'm not overly optimistic.

I think that certainly the virtual machines had a problem with the 3d graphics and the only solution that has really worked has been to create a partition and install a version of windows 98 in the partition with which it is possible to install drivers for 3d graphics, Obviously this is more complicated, but it is infallible ...
