on a related note, i wanted to try to take some photos of a partial solar eclipse we had here on tuesday but the weather was so bad, i couldn't even catch a short glimpse. quite disappointing, i'll have to wait till 2015 i guess :-(

I noticed the lights of my house were still on, which is weird as I wasn't at home! ;)

That is the incredible thing about going into space. It turns you into a mystic.

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

I still remember the total eclipse we had in 1999. I went to Scotland a few days later. Apparently there the eclipse could not be seen (or wasn't total). On a parking lot in the Highlands I was talking to Scottish busdriver. He said "I don't understand the fuss about that eclipse. We have solar eclipses every day here. We call them clouds."

If only Mester Eckehart have had that chance ... but seriously, transcending earthly limits does have that effect.
