Gamepad issue - surface dirt...or something

Hi.
Recently my gamepad became unpleasant to hold in the hands. It became sticky and when I scratch it with scissors there exfoliate pieces of dirt/fat/dead skin - just as in the case when you scratch a sticky tape mark left on a piece of glass and you have this sticky and unpleasant stuff on your fingers .

Is it degrading plastic or sweaty hands?
Anyway, I don't know why is that but I want to remove that cr@p so that my gamepad become "silky smooth" again. Any good ideas?

More or less what happened with my car steering wheel. I used marseille soap solution, it worked well.

But since humans have lived with this for thousands of years, it's clearly not an issue.

This is why adverts for anti-bacterial cleaners annoy me. They essentially tell you that the product they want you to buy is essentially useless.
