Royal Mail Are Stupid...Suggestions?

I have an ongoing problem - Royal Mail aren't delivering my mail. I keep getting calls saying mail sent to me has been returned "addressee gone away". I haven't. I have informed Royal Mail, but they haven't done anything, and have never contacted me. This appears to have been going on since before Christmas, on and off. What should I do? And do you think I would be entitled to some kind of compensation?
