“Waiting for Columbus” by Thomas Trofimuk was my last novel.

This dude rocks up at a mental asylum covered in blood and thinks that he is Christopher Columbus. The nurse is just enamoured by him. It was a fabulous read. He guy is a bit of a poet and it comes across in his writing. It inspired me to write some of my own poetry (just to get laid, you understand). I was fortunate enough to be reading it while I was on holidays on the east coast of Australia.

We don’t care if it’s Sci Fi or a textbook. We are interested.

I am about to embark upon Russell Brand's My Bookywooky. I think it is going to be cringeworthy!

Currently reading "Fire Star" by Chris d'Lacey.

It's the third book in a series about sentient clay dragons. It's basically Harry Potter in a more familiar setting - well worth a read if you enjoyed JK Rowling's books.

Just finished Worst Case and Run For Your Life by James Patterson, in the Michael Bennett series. Really, really good books.

I didn't realize you had a thread similar to this so recently. I might have read it here somewhere couldn't find it just now you might like the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.

What do you say to Stephen King, the master.

Quite right, you have to be careful what you ask for. Umberto Eco, good author. "The Coriolis Effect," how about a signed copy when it's done?

Interesting, I will look into James Patterson further.

Every library should own The Hitchhiker's series. No need to stop there either. Douglas Adams rocks.

Formula 1 related: How about "Life in the Fast Lane" and "The Mechanic's Tale" by Steve Matchett. Both books are a quick read. I was able to remember from the viewer's perspective most every race and he was able to give us the background scene. I laughed out loud, wasn't able to put them down, and cried.

I've now moved on to A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I like to leave myself a "breather" between books of the same series, I'll come back to Chris d'Lacey when I've finished this one.

Have just finished 'Blood, Sweat and Tea' and 'More Blood, More Sweat and another cup of Tea' by Tom Reynolds, which were very good indeed.

Have now started on 1984, which i have been meaning to read for years. About 25% in so far, and it's not disappointed yet.

1984 is split into three sections. The first two sections are awesome. The final section is one of the dullest anti-climaxes I've ever read.

Which one, the abridged version or the complete and uncut edition? The latter is the better, but is 1400+ pages!

I'm reading Moby Dick and Das Kapital (yeah, in german). I have many more waiting to be read - Huxley, Fitzgerald and Gertrude Stein among them.

It can s**k to have a lot of money and be in a book fair that gives at least 50% off. ;)

That's my boy.

I recently picked up the short stories of Robert Sheckley. Some of them are still spot on, others didn't age that well.
