Snake in the grass!

A brown snake! At the local hall just down the road. This one will kill you. 
Richard gets the tape measure out.
A tad over six feet long!
Thursday nights summertime some of the local guys meet at the hall for a few ales,
it's called 'The Corndale Sewing Club', and God help you if you bring any knitting or crocheting!

Why is a snake of that size stretched out like that? I thought they moved all ripple-like and wiggly when they reached a certain size?

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)
