Instead of raising the Avatar size limit, could we raise the Signature size limit (or is that planned as well?)

There are plans to automatically disable any signatures over 20kb. (H)

...Actually there aren't, but there should be.

Guys, I seem to have a problem with the forum.

When ever I come onto the site it asks me to log in and it's not storing the cookie from the website. Any ideas?

It was fine when the forum first came online but now after it moved to the gpg2009 subdomain it's gone kaput :S

I'm surprised no one wrote use the search function ;)

Thanks Nick, had a read through and found the answer. Bit idiotic of me there.

2 bits of feedback

favicon is broken

You might want to hide the Moderators forum from the main page. Us mortals (oh the things I do with words) can't read it, but we can see the top 2 thread titles.

Gotta say I prefer the old forum layout lol.

Still in time I think this one will grow on me :)

Actually I think this blue-tinged layout is very sexy. Looks thoroughly modern and reminds me of the neon lighting in clubs.
Even if/when alternative skins get introduced, I'm more than happy with this one. :D

And I agree with what Gav said, the layout has been cleaned up nicely.

I don't know if this has been said but the reported problem with the GPG logo appearing above the backgroud (main logo at the top of the page) only seems to happen when you have the browser on full screen (atleast for me, on 1680x1050). If I open the page and stretch it almost to the size of the screen then it's ok but if I manually stretch to the full screen size, the logo jumps again. This I think is down to the 1680 width, not the 1280 height as when I pull the page to the max height it's ok, it's just the width.

Hope this can be fixed.

It's not when it's full screen, but when you get to around 1700 or 1800 pixels wide (basically, when the logo is fully clear of the picture on the right, and is into the repeated bit on the left).

I know it's early days but I must say that I preffered the old forum, I don't know but the old one seemed to have a certain amount of class ... individuality even. This seems like a site that has just been started up not one with the longevity that we have enjoyed. I also don't understand what's going on with my Pm alerts? Before it would be high-lighted in blue that I had a new message now nothing I have to keep checking it to see.

Also the menues seem to be a bit crowded like nothing fits, not very pleasing to the eye. I find that navigation takes longer because you have to look twice at everything because the text is so garish. All in all I think that keeping with old and just adding A few high lights here and there would have been great but I guess others will disagree but it's my opinion and in any event I appreciate the thought and the hard work that has gone into the new forum.

Forums looking slick and clean, a "Search Within Thread" function would ease my track editing woe's ;), not sure if it's possible tho'.
The smileys are a bit wierd, like they're part of 4 different sets...... whatever you do don't get that stupid dancing banana smiley ;)

We always prefer the old forum.

I agree with the individuality part, the old forum was very nostalgic and the simple fact it didn't modernise to become like every other forum is what made it unique and different - it stood out.

For some reason I also find that the old forum did work better at making individual 'characters' stand out more (regarding their sig pics etc and running through posts). Oddly, the same sig pics on here instantly remind me of google adverts everywhere - yet theyre the same sigs as before, but look so much tackier and a jumble.

I know it is hard and mean to criticise work, especially as a lot of hard work has been put into the new layout, but i really really miss the old one.

Maybe the first skin to be made will adopt this new modern layout, but with all the old colours - at least that will give some small comfort. This is too google chomey for my liking!

Suggestion: At the moment, when stickies are unread they have the same image next to them as ordinary threads, which is quite confusing when I haven't read through threads a lot as I can't tell what's stickied and what isn't. Could the image for unread stickied be changed (it's different for read stickies, they're fine)?
