i dunno about best, but i do have a nomination for worst - the ending to Porco Rosso (the studio ghibli film). pure laziness!

The Flanker is gone.

its not technically the ending but the final moments as the 2nd Death Star is destroyed (1:35 onwards in clip) in Return of the Jedi. thow in the ending as vader joins the force as well for good measure
