What a circuit!!! I used to go every year to Llandow with the RAF championships, competed in a few enduros, but mainly did marshalling.

When you think of it like that it is something to consider!! They start the championships quite soon dont they?

Llandow has undergone quite a transformation in the last few years

I'm told it's absolutley nuts! Can't wait.

They 'might' be doing a winter series, just waiting for the calender. Other than that, the normal season runs from March to November. Booking up in january though is advisable, its extremley popular.

A very nice track. Last I went it looks like it was after the changes, the pictures look exactly as I remember.

It was here which was best to view from as a spectator and marshal... awesome corner

At Cov each year it has been getting more popular!! ill rejoin the society next week during freshers and see if they know anything about dates there. The great thing is over the years the way they offer the drives has been equal, most of the time it has ensured everybody got a chance to race.

If you had £2,500, Silverstone actually used to do a week-long training course that resulted in a National C licence (i think), and 'your first proper race'. Plus you got to keep all of the kit, minus helmet.

Yeah it's a National 'B' License you get. It's the week long intensive Race school.

Interesting bit of film that mate well done.

It's all about money though guys... depending on what you want and what you're willing to pay for your experience. I work for a company called Palmersport ( [www.palmersport.com] [www.youtube.com] ) and we do events from about £100 to £1000..... and it's the only place in the country where the cars are not limited or restricted in any way and you're actively encouraged to go as FAST as possible...

That may be one of the coolest jobs in the world! Does Justin Wilson still work there? IIRC he was still part-timing when driving for Minardi :)

haha

Lol, even watching it myself I wished I went faster on some turns but I had to be careful because they stop you from taking part if you spin 2 times! Though after that first spin, my confidence was actually higher and resulted in me lapping faster than before! This video doesnt show it but at the end of my run, a few laps from the end I go wide at T1 and bash a cone with my left tyre lol ;)

Yeeeep we looked at the video immediately when we got home, then I got called funny names for a while. :/

HAHA Well it has it's moments......

@ DJSKYLINE I'd love to sort some sort of forum discount but it'd never happen lol I'm not really sure about prices etc.... It was just a link to the website I thought would be interesting. I'm sure that they are on there somewhere though buddy.

@ senninho No Justin hasn't worked there since the Minardi days... I think he quit a few weeks after signing for them... but I believe that some guests used to pay extra to have him there on the day and do all the trophy/prize giving presentations at the end of the day, (people still do that with Jonathan Palmer)

We do a lot of video stuff now, it's very cool (although from our side it's irritating having to phaff with it all) all guests are given USB sticks and it records directly to them so you can take them home. (and put them on youtube like a lot of people have done!!!) but it's a like a bit of free publicity so it's all good.

Also I forgot to mention as Davidson puts it 'helmet suck'. Its amazing, going flat out down the straights you can really feel your head being pulled up.

That sounds great. :) Unfortunately I don't have that kind of money at the moment, having left a job in June and not been able to pick up a new one yet. Certainly something to think about for the future though!
