It was a bit too much like the Army vs Range Rover Sport to me...

I'd say that episode made up for last weeks poor attempt. Highlight was Hammonds, "Oliver Penis" ;)!

Couple of annoying parts (pretending to not know who Panis is...), but otherwise a much better episode. Fun challenge again.

The les bien hat and cheese too. :P

Very good episode. The C02 greenhouse was cringeworthy though.

Girlfriends dad (who is a chemist) has pointed out the CO2 'crystals' was complete bollocks. To create the crystals you need to remove CO2 in the first place. It is just displacement. To fill a sponge with water you need to empty it first. It doesn't magicly make water disappear.

Can't wait to see the new season, who knows when BBC America will show it. I guess they need to dub or put closed-caption first ;) (they actually put CC on Skins, hahaha). I remember that one episode, Peniston Oil, Arsewhatever... brilliant :P.

Larsens Biscuits IIRC, making it "Arse biscuits" when they opened the doors.

You know, if the BBC didn't have some censored bits here it would be brilliant to have all of this Top Gear stuff shown! :)

Check it out. Back to a garbage episode again. This advert stuff is pathetic.

That Holden truck was awesome though!!

Abit disapointed with the Aston peice aswell, and why no track test?

The Aston bit was fantastic... just not in the usual way.

Agreed with the rest - the advert section was crap... you knew fine well before hand it what it was going to be like. James was going to sensible but boring... Clarkson shouty and destructive... and with lots of shouting between the 2.

Good to see a half-normal review again though.

Yeah, despite the advert bit, it was again a bit more about cars themselves which to be honest I had no problem with.
The Aston clip was absolutely fantastic, the car spoke for itself, the pictures were beautiful, though it's a shame there won't be any episodes again for a while.
It'd have fitted better in a let's say 10 episode long series.

I thought the advert-part great. Ofcourse childish, but funny :D

Well, this video is not really about Top Gear, but TG related still, so I thought I would post it here. Hopefully this hasn't been posted before on this forum.

I think this is just awesome:

Top Gear is still a great show, but it is in danger of becoming a parody of itself. I personally thought the ending was self-indulgant, especially the rubbish Clarkson was spouting about cars disapperaing and wotnot.

Was also clearly designed to make people fret over whether or not TG would return.

The only brilliant bit from the last series was the race to Edinburgh. Some sections were too overtly scripted, and there is a degree of repetition in some of the tasks now.

Top Gear was at its best when they were doing the boats the first time, or the original cheap car challenges.

Scale back a bit and I think that TG will be brilliant again. It is still a great show, though, no matter what!

I wouldn't say what Clarkson said was rubbish, he made a valid point there, although yes it was a bit overdramatized and I don't think it's that urgent but still...

I agree with the rest of what you wrote, but I think the budget cut made these cheap car challenges appear more often. Maybe those are the tests which require the least amount of money (I don't quite see how by the way). Actually they all could be the same challenges, but they're still gonna be fun every time as they have been so far. As you said, no matter what, they make fun and quality stuff.
