Hmm, they've had a big budget cut by the BBC, I don't klnow if it will be the same, no more big challenges according to Jeremy....but it will still be good, because TG is made out of awesomeness.

What are we racing this week? Cars vs a plane? A speedboat? An RAF fighter jet?

...No, a postman.
In a van.
On an island.

Whilst we're at it, why don't we have a go at a poorly-scripted and horribly-executed piece about the Army, which has some vague resemblance to - but nowhere near the entertainment value of - the Tank challenge from a couple of series ago.

The current series is about the same in terms of challenges and races as three or four series ago. The last two series had a lot of races and they've cut that back a bit. Three or four series ago it was great, now it's back to that level and it's garbage.

It's not the amount of stuff, it's how it's done. Yeah we know it's all scripted and we know it's an entertainment show, but that race was cringeworthy crap, and the army stuff was embarrassing.

It's like watching Brianiac, with cars.

Ah ok, yeah it's been badly scripted lately. Especially the army film. I loved the cheap car challenge from a few weeks back though.

I thought the race with the train was great - the letter race wasn't bad either. nice to see how the post is supposed to work!

Britains postal service is amazing compared to alot of countries ive been too. Ive always though it be one of the major services where Britian excels over the rest of the world. Was a nice small insight into it. A shame the car was awful to look at! I cant help but feel porsche lack the design variety of Ferrari and Lambo. It seems all their cars are made to look like the 911.

Which episode was the train race?

Train race was the first race this series.

Didn't think this episode was all that bad while watching it. It certainly wasn't one I'll make a point of watching again, but I can't remember any cringe worthy parts (other than going over old ground again, but at some stage, that will be unavoidable).

Decent guest again too (though I normally hate SIARPC).

I'm just generally not a big fan of the past 6 or 7 series of TG. Series 4-7 were perfect for me - fun car reviews with a few fun races and plain odd things. It's the other way around now, and it makes each series less enjoyable for me.

Well the letter used a helicopter for stage 1, which just wasn't right. That race started badly and just got worse.

but I can't remember any cringe worthy parts

Claiming the use of live fire ammunition was a MASSIVE facepalm for me.

Other than the guest, who was cool (but still had some annoyingly scripted rubbish in it), the entire episode was just rubbish.

if that was live ammo, then the army are crap shots, that car was so easy to see on the grass a baby could of hit it with a gun

If it was live (which it obviously wasn't for many, many reasons), he'd have been dead within the first 5 seconds. Military technology nowdays has helicopters which can lock onto targets 3 miles away that it can't even see, and these guys couldn't hit an Evo. Course...

Like I said. Cringeworthy.
