I just spent £1.50 of my last £3 to buy a Euromillions ticket to help me climb out of the debt :p

Jackpot is 110million, Euros I guess..!

Just thinking, what would I buy? Well I would first off pay my uni debts, a ticket to Barcelona for the race and when I get back my dream car...

What debt do you have Chet? And for me, most probably a new ultra spec laptop and an HDTV at the maximum amount.

Just uni debt... And my silly spending spree in the first year has cost me through the rest! My lack of decent job in summer, and lack of job at uni! All my fault and all something I am not looking forward to facing after uni... the real world maybe? lol!

ooo HDTV wouldnt go a miss!

I'm down to me last few quid as well, but I managed to land a paid college work placement job, so I'm one of the lucky ones!

I'd probably build home-recording studio, some decent film cameras, a Les Paul and Mesa Boogie stack amplifier...and a '96 Ford Mondeo ;)

If I'd win 110 million euros, I'd first have to hand in half of it to the government. I'd use the remaining 55 million to buy tissues because I can't stop crying over the fact that I've just lost 55 million.

Is that by choice or would you have to?

Come to think of it, I would move to monaco, declare residancy, setup an account and place it all there. And ofc buy a gpg trip to Monaco gp :p

Do you really think I'd voluntarily hand in 55 million euros to the government? I'm not stupid :P

F**k me, no wonder people are pissed about the high rate of income tax about to be enforced in this country! ;)

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10; indeed, it's a common requirement in fairy tales. If the human didn't have to overcome huge odds, what would be the point? Terry Pratchett - The Science Of Discworld

O wait, I mixed it up with succession rights, which are 52% (when you inherit money for instance). When you win a lottery, you pay 29% here.

Still, thats a lot of money!

Would there be anyway to avoid it? Not tax-evasion as such but could you move away then claim the winnings?

I doubt it. There is probably some law forbidding that.
