Saw this one somewhere else...There's a lot of variations on this theme, but this is the best one I've seen! :)

STAGE 1: MUSIC FROM KIDS TV SHOWS
Aw, you are 4 and you love The Barney Song!

STAGE 2: AFRICAN-AMERICAN MUSIC
UR AROUN 10 YEARZ OLD AN YOU LOVE HIP-HOP!!! 50-CENT 4EVA BIG UP 2PAC!!!

STAGE 3: ROCK
By teh age of 14, you've discovered girlz and AC/DC!!
You love ALL their songs, and you can play them ALL on guitar, and girls LUV rockers!!
AC/DC rock!! T-N-T Oi!! Oi!!

STAGE 4: NORWEGIAN DEATH METAL
Age 17 Man, and you can't believe you used to listen to AC/DC, it's so f**king softcore!
F**king guitar's p*** easy too! Gimme something heavy and made out of metal,,,,,
Going to Sepultura this summer man, they're gonna rip us a new f**king A**HOLE RAWWWRRR!!!!!!!

STAGE 5: ALTERNATIVE-ROCK, CUTESY BANDS & WEED
Get to college dude and f**k.....Man you ever listen to The Breeders? So much better than The Pixies....
Man you used to play...like...hardcore guitar, tapping solos, thrash metal...but it's like
...musical masturbation for the mind!! Alternative-Rock rules...man, pass the joint...
You can get so much more meaning and beauty out of simple chords now...
mainly though, it's because you're too stoned out of your head to do anything else with the guitar...

STAGE 6: TECHNO & ECSTASY
You're 24, you've got a job, you've given up the stupid gay rock band dream,
but you're still heading out to nightclubs every night getting trashed on e's and trying to get laid, lad!
Took some yokes last night...awww, you were bouncing, lad!!
Loving house, harcore techno, loving the oldies as well...d'ya remember Sash!?

PMSL! I can't stop giggling, those are f**king awesome! Cheers for sharing!

(Suppose I ought to mention I listen to BBC Radio 2 most days, although I have an extensive CD collection (ripped from my parents and family) that varies from 60s to my brothers speed death metal!)

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10; indeed, it's a common requirement in fairy tales. If the human didn't have to overcome huge odds, what would be the point? Terry Pratchett - The Science Of Discworld

I hate to be a nitpicker (screw that, actually I love it) but "Norwegian Death Metal"? I beg your pardon, but WTF?? DEATH METAL mostly came from Tampa, Florida and Norway had BLACK METAL. Apart from that LOL and cats taste like rabbit. (Dogs like lamb and crocodile like chicken) - and Sepultura are from Brazil anyway.

I KNEW you'd complain about that one (I'd have been disappointed if you didn't, actually ;-))...obviously it's not a flawless critique on music appreciation! :P

Indeed, the whole post is ridiculous once you actually look into it. The Breeders are NOT better than The Pixies and even for a 10 year-old Hip-Hopper, liking Tupac (a West Coaster) AND 50 Cent (from Queens) smacks of epic n00bism.

I remember when I was 11 and first heard "I Want You", took me 3 years to find the CD but it was worth it!

When it takes you 3 years to find a CD, does that not tell you something about the band who produced it?

Hehe, now you'd just uTorrent it...

I personally love most genres of music, but of all the "phases" here I'm probably nearest to Stage 5. Though I'm also into Jazz and hardcore Rock, so don't exactly fit the stereotype :o

LMAO @ the gif for Stage 6 by the way!
