SPAM (the meat variety!)

Well, I am sure most of us have seen this retro looking product in our local supermarkets.
We all talk about internet spam, and post pictures of ham spam on our forums - but how many of us have actually eaten it?
I always felt disgusted by the look of the tin - it just doest't even look remotely appealing despite their attempts to make it look like something a cartoon character would eat. Blergh!
And so there I was, watching none other than Top Gear's James May and TV's Oz Clarke doing their wine tasting programme across California.
Captain Slow pulled out his infamous trusty tin of SPAM, and proceded to cook a meal in a vineyard makeshift campsite for himself, Oz Clarke and this saucy French woman that hosted the vineyard trip.
SPAM and Bakes Beans it was, cubed SPAM, fried to a crip edge, and mixed with hot baked beans and served.
Well, I copied it, through gritted teeth.
My god, it was actually DELICIOUS! Nasty looking SPAM and all its dogbits and earholes and a$$holes contained inside its processed core - was tasty...like REALLY tasty.
I just bought myself a trio-pack from the supermarker for three quid.
So anyone out there not to have tried it and would be tempted, I recommend it fully!

First time I tried it, I had kept it in a warm room! When I prized it out in one go, it was accompanied by a porno-type farty-squelchy sound, and the stuff was glistening in a layer of liquid fatty goodness.
Then I tasted it, and surprisingly loved it

I don't like it, but i have at least tried it - like gav, in a sandwich.
the best comparison i can make, and even then its merely 'similar' is that SPAM is kinda like hot dog sausages/frankfurters.... but in a cubed form.
as for spam fritters, yes, i am going to try find/make some of those for sure LS! :D mmmm!
PS it isnt like corned beef in taste, only the container is.

Guess they only use the leftover parts of the dog for spam/smac/rocco, like the bowels, stomach and other intestinals. The better parts probably have already been eaten in countries like Thailand, China, Indonesia, Croatia etc.

One time at the checkout....I was waiting for my groceries to be scanned. As the checkout chick scanned the bag of dry dog food, a rather largish lady behind me said "Do you have a dog?" I turned, and said "Actually, no, I don't. I'm on the new dog food diet, I've already lost 10kg in a matter of weeks, surely you've heard of it?" Fat lady "No I haven't, are you for real?" Me "Oh yes, of course, it works a treat, I have them with hot milk for breakfast, and for tea I make up a low fat gravy, they're actually really very tasty." At this stage I had everyone's attention, including the people in the queue at the next checkout. Me "Although one must be careful as the last time I went on this diet I wound up in hospital." Fat lady "No! Oh my God! What happened?" Me "I got hit by a car when I was sitting in the middle of the road licking my nuts......."
