I heard on the news that the hottest ever recorded temp was in Africa at 53 degrees (iirc) I think you would just melt away!

Whilst doing the great ocean road trip (west of Melbourne) we copped 42, and living in Western Sydney, get a few days each summer around that 42 mark

42 degrees, but with a very high humidity, which makes it worse.

That's not to extreme is it? In most European countries those temps are reached too...

Ofcourse. In Holland there's always a week with 30 degrees + and I was in Sweden two years ago, where it was 35 degrees.

Not to mention countries as Italy and Croatia, where I was last year.

Thats not so bad. What was the humidity like though?

It reached 46 in Adelaide a few days ago. It's cooled a bit since thankfully.

Over 100 degrees celsius in a sauna.

Well, seriously though, I feel for you guys there downunder, I can't myself even stand constant temperatures over 25 degrees, let alone something like 45 degrees you have to cope with!

about 42 or so in Portugal a few years back when they had really bad forest fires. Actually I didn't mind the heat one bit.

Well the hottest I've been is 100f, that's the beauty of a tropical climate never in need for a coat or a fountain swim :)

in argentina there are hot and cold temperatures all year, because its a long territory but I live more less near the Capitol city and in summer there are 30, 35 °C (sometimes we get near 40°) and last winter my uncle that lives in Germany came to my home a few days and he said the temperature in my place in winter is like the temp. in his city in summer :)

In one of the rooms at uni, there's a thermometer on the wall, there's no air conditioning, and during October it reached 45C!

i think the hottest ive ever experienced was around 39 degrees with some ridiculous humidy at 100%.

noe that might seem feeble to some above, but...in the words of john candy in cool runnings: 'its not so much the heat, its the humidity that kills you!'.

florida weather when its hot is like breathing in that wet, hot steamy air you get from staying in the shower too long and too hot - but theres no getting away from it!

For temperature outside, I'd say it was the same as danm above, it was about 39 degrees C with very high humidity. But, I've been riding in a car before when it was 65 degrees C. Sweltering!

All this and I've never left the UK, not through my own choice, but I will do soon!
