i find japan both an extremely odd, yet fascinating place - where there are solutions and inventions to practically anything you can think of to do with aiding daily life.

as for anime and cartoon erotica - thats just WEIRD.

also, random fact, one of americas biggest brands, Kellogs, turned over an estimated income profit of 10billion in 2006. WOW! :D

Looking good for Kellogs, still what Exxon Mobil made last year was just ridiculous, over 50 billions in net income, IIRC.

penicillin (as medicine anyway)

There is a lot of debate on that. Before Penicillin was even discovered by Fleming, it was already being used as a medicine. The fungi was rubbed on sores (usually from horse riding) to heal people. Fleming noticed this and it was how he discovered penicillin and its uses. Florey and his team were who managed to extract penicillin from its original state.

QI is a great TV show :P

It's the same thing with "discoveries". People can live at the source of a river for thousands of years and just because some white man who can spell Geography with a capital G stumbles by it counts as being "discovered".

I put that parenthetical addition after penicillin with you in mind, david, thinking you'd say it was your Scotsman that is responsible for it ;)

I examined a few bottles of Bacardi yesterday (from inside and outside) and nowhere it says "Puerto Rico" on the label. It doesn't say Cuba either.
Might be an export thingy. I am talking about the white rum "Bacardi Superior" (has 37,5% and comes in 0.7 liter bottles over here)

Well, it must be an export thing or that specific flavour, every bottle over here says puerto rican rum.

What I find interesting is that everything in the label here is in english, while your bottle is in spanish, maybe you have a special edition or something.

I dont have a bottle in my home unfortunately, only have DonQ and the vodka Finlandia.
