Grammy-award winning comedian George Carlin, best known for his Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV routine, has died of heart failure aged 71.

The star was admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles on Sunday with chest pains and died later that day.

Jack Burns, Carlin's comedy partner in the early 1960s, told the Associated Press agency: "He was a genius and I will miss him dearly."
Carlin performed as recently as last weekend in Las Vegas.

For those who haven't seen the "7 words you can't say on TV" scene, you're missing out.

EDIT: Contains strong language and some views which people may find offensive. Or you could LYFAO!

It is from a George Carlin skit. One of his most famous. Watch it all the way through to understand the comment.

Warning. Contains very strong language and comments on religion which some may not appreciate.

Not my kind of humour. Not that I was offended, but it just not makes me laugh, not even smile.

I think something's a little wrong with your sense of humour Sapo! I found it quite hilarious for the first 3 or 4 minutes. Thanks for the clearup Dave.

A matter of taste I think, you can't really judge my sense of humour. In Holland we have a whole other kind of comedians than this kind of stand up, and different kind of jokes too.

But at least I got the thread title. ;-)

My knowledge of stand-up is limited to Pryor comedians (see what I did there? ;-)), mostly UK based, but there's a few from the US I follow, Chris Rock, Rich Hall, and not so long ago, Denis Leary.

Denis Leary is mostly Irish though :P. Also, I feel the same as Sapo and it's just not my kind of humour, funnily enough.

The "7 things" sketch is one of my all-timwe favourites. :) George Carlin was an American comedian who had the balls to tell Americans how screwed up their country was. RIP.

"You can say 'I pricked my finger', just don't say you fingered your prick."

I was taking a drink at the time and had to clean the laptop cos I'd sprayed a mouthful everywhere laughing so hard.
