Hi guys, just a question about setting up a kind of registration thing for my companies website.

We're a small company, but we'd like to figure out a way of getting people to register at our site to look at certain things.

For example we have a pictures page, and we want the restrict access to the pictures until they register first, where they submit their name and email address, then they'll be sent an automatic email giving them a link which enables them to look at the page.

Any help or pointers would be very helpful

You'll want to use PHP and MySQL for that.

In PHP, there is a mail() function for handling email. To create a database and the tables, and then you'd need to write an HTML form and then use PHP to handle it, and use some form of sessions.

Hi thanks for that, but that sounds completely alien to me, is there anywhere i can just copy and paste some code to try it out?

currently we have a contact form, where people fill that in and it sends us an email, where we add it to the database manually, will it take much modification to turn that into an automatic procedure?
