What I don't get is where is the light coming from on the far side of the moon? Secret alien sun perhaps, coevered up by NASA...

If the moon is between Earth and the Sun, the far side will be lit by sunlight, when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon, the far side will be in darkness! When there is a lunar eclipse, and the Moon occludes the sun and the Moons shadow passes over the Earths surface, the far side must be lit by the sun.

Couldn't tell you where else you could see it, apart from physically going to the Moon itself, but it's in the movie, first post.
