I've a friend staying over on Friday night, and we/I feel like watching a really scary film. I don't want one that's just gore and stuff to make you jump, but one that's scary with a good storyline aswell.

Any reccomendations? :)

was that the utter shite that Halle Berry was in? it was ferociously criticised by reviewers when it was out, IIRC.

If you take it this way, the scariest film (real one) was when i was about 6 or 7 years old, and my brother made me to watch in the mirror in my bathroom, and i taught i saw the devil, i didn't watch in the mirror for about one or two weeks, so that's a scary movie.

Get a good psychological horror film in - most of Hitchcock's stuff is far scarier than anything modern - because you hardly see what happens to people - it plays on our subconcious fears and imaginations far more than a modern film which shows us everything.

question is what kind of scary,

Bloody-scary
Funny-scary
Rly-scary
...

For really scary my biggest suggestion is "The Shining"
Watch it in a dark house, at midnight and without phones, unhooked and nobody else in the house. I tried it, thrilling! :)

And my index finger things the same.

How is the Exorcist? I will check out The Shining

not the shining for the night it sounds like yyou're planning. Its a great film, but long and quite slow. It builds slowly to a climax, but I think you'd want something with more initial impact.

gotta be the exorcist! chuffing scary.

i was gonna ask if it was a girl or not ;)

Silent Hill is pretty good, if you dont know the story from the games... which i did so i found it kind of slow, but its a good scary movie

I always thought Watership Down was a good date movie, you could comfort the girl when the rabbits die in the end.
