Doing a survey project for school....

This is completely voluntary, but I'm doing a survey project for my statistics class, so If you guys don't mind, I'd like to get some information. Its nothing serious, simply an assignment, no names will be recorded, yadda yadda yadda. If you do respond PLEASE number your answers to match the question. Please keep your opinions as to how much the questions suck to yourself... i know they suck ;) I will tally up the results before monday so if you want to do it, don't wait lol.

Here we go:

1) How much time do you spend on a computer per week? (minutes, hours, etc.)

2) Do you feel that you are competent enough to troubleshoot any computer diffulculties? (Yes or No)

3) Which of the following activities do you use your personal computer for the most: (Pick 1 only)
- Work
- Gaming
- Entertainment
- Communication
- Other

4) How would you rank these Windows-based operating systems in order of most user-friendly to least user-friendly?
-Windows 95
-Windows 98
-Windows ME/2000
-Windows XP

5) Finally, How do you feel about the following statement:
"Computers help me in everyday life"
(Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, Strongly Disagree)

And yes I do realize that I am getting somewhat biased results by asking this 'population' but you guys aren't the entire population, the grade is my responsibility, and I'm willing to accept the risk ;) . Admins can close this thread If I'm breaking any forum rules (I don't think that I saw anything against a random survey)

Thanks in advance! :)

1) ~70 hours

2) yes

3) N/A as work, gaming and entertainment all come equally

4)
most friendly
Win95
WinXP
Win98
least friendly

I've left WinME/2000 out as it's a totally pointless option, given as they don't even look similar, and couldn't be any further removed from each other in terms of use.

5) in every day life in a social context - disagree.
In every day life including work, strongly agree.

On the basis of this, I reckon you'd need to finetune some questions. Did ya run these by a 3rd party to see if they couldn't be ambiguous in any way?

Good luck BTW. :)

thanks so much to those of you who have answered, keep em coming :)

and yes, turkeymachine, I really do see how much these questions/options need some fine tuning, but its not a major problem, and oddly enough, our teacher talked with each group about the questions we are supposed to use, and I think she wants us to concentrate a tad bit more on our calculations than our interpretations. either way its not like I'm going to make a profession out of this, I would be taking another year of calculus if i could... especially since my ultimate goal is to design F1 Cars :)

I suggest we turn it into a Windows ME appreciation thread!

That way, it'll be the same as locking it.

1) 62 - I work with computers, so 35 hours at work a week and around 27 hours a week personal use.

2) Yes

3)
- Gaming

4)
=== MORE ===
-Windows XP
-Windows 2000
-Windows 98
-Windows 95
-Windows ME
=== LESS ===

(I seperated ME and 2000 as they are totally different OSs. MEs rubbish as it crashes all the time, but 2000 is a rock solid OS for networks)

5) Strongly agree for work use, but not so good on a personal level as I use them for entertainment.
