constant beeping noise coming out of my speakers

i dont know what is causing it, but there is a constant high pitched beeping noise which drowns out all other noise, making it impossible to listen to music or watch a film, which is coming out of my speakers.

please help

what speakers do you have my i ask?

standard dell ones. i plugged in my headphones and i still get the beeping noise out of that

yer i occasionally get this with my standard speakers, the problem usually sorts itself out on it's own though so sorry but no ideas over here lol

although you could do what i've just done and buy some lush 5.1 surround sound speakers :P

Go to "Volume control", there should be a little icon for it at the bottom right of you screen, then go to options and then choose Advanced. Now, try muting one by one all of the features until you find the one that causes those noises. This worked for me on my other computer with same problem.

i found on my logitech it was the sub and the power cable was loose and bent slightly.

I had this today! So annoying!

weird! 20 mins after i posted my brothers laptop started jizzing noise from the back for no apparant reason!

Many random noises you hear when on this forum are actually the GOD DAM FLASH ADVERTS which have noises to go with them. I have them blocked here so i dont have to put up with it.

i did a system restore and the problem has gone.

In some cases depending of your sound speakers, it happens because they are so close to each other. It happened to me once and I didnt hear it, only other people around me, since they said that it was a loud irritating noise :P
