I've resisted saying Pelé was the best for a long time but finally gave in. He was just incredible, to say the least. People often forget another magnificent player who some say was better than Pelé, Garrincha. He won the 1962 World Cup for Brazil, basically.
And regarding Baresi and Van Basten's achievements... Ronaldinho Gaúcho has a World Cup championship, Copa América and the Confederations Cup. All he lacks is the Olympic title, but that's because of stupid coaches not choosing the best players. Bear in mind I love Marco van Basten, shame that great players have to retire because of useless crappy ones who must resort to violence on such beautiful sport.
And no Esben, it wasn't because of Norway
. His case was similar to a convulsion but apparently doesn't classify as one. I'm not a doctor, I don't know :P
