After i passed my test the only car i had to drive was a volvo 740 estate. That was a big bloody car but was actually relativley easy to park, had a decent amount of steering lock.

SpaceAce: it looks like that is the equivielnt of the Vauxhall Omega (UK), if so they usually plonk HUGE engines in them so they go like stink. The police uase them as unmarked cars over here.

I pretty useless at reverse parking. I was fine until I went away to uni - but now it takes me two goes to get my car into a space. It's only a bloody small Fiesta!

i'm like that too, on my licence test i breezed through the reverse park, but now i seem to have forgotten the basics and often need a second go to fix things up ;)

anywho nice car dude, i got a mazda 626 as my first car earlier this year, nothing beats owning ur own car :D

I reeeeally want my own car. Insurance is around the 1100 - 1200 quid mark per year though :/

If I could be a named driver on my parents insurance (but with my own car) it might bring it down by about 1/3.

Looking at a Pug 106 sized car, something cheap to run. Around the 650 - 700 quid mark with plenty of MOT left. Not fussy though ;)

Reverse parking meh...when i learnt i learnt in a corsa with power steering...i now own my own polo, but it has no power steering...so because i am lazy, reverse parkking is rare and reverse paralell park is shocking lol...

@qwerty: I was a named driver on my parents insurance but had my own car and with the CO-op it was like 800 i think??? I have however been driving since i was 17, and now have my own insurance with years no claims....so its down to about 490 now...the cheapest i could find it was direct line

qwert when you pass ask your instructor for pass plus. mine asked for like £50 but it knocks hundreds off your insurance. believe me. i tried it. pass plus is just six lessons which are more advanced like on the motorway. you get a cetificate which you show the insurer. also look at rapid bonus from norwich union. you insurance on this lasts for 9 months, not 12. but it helps you build your no claims quicker, 9 months instead of 12.
