iPod Video problem! Question 2

DAMN THING!!!

I bought an iPod Video, uploaded all my songs (20+ gigs) and about 10 GB of videos and it works great!

Then i had to wipe my pc due to norton letting in a virus and didnt re install the ipod s/w at first, then i downloaded some more video clips, installed s/w, plugged ipod in to pc which came up with *dont turn off your ipod* and it wiped the thing clean! Im now putting everything back on (which is taking ages as i have to convert all my vids to mp4) any ideas why? Do i need to back something up next time im forced to fresh install xp?

Cheers
Iain

As far as I'm aware all MP3 players do this to stop you sharing music onto other peoples computers. What you can do to prevent this is backup your iTunes playlist. Then import it before you update your iPod that way everything will be kept on it.

Nope. My Zen allowed me to put stuff on it, take it to a mates house, and then take it off again.

there is an option when u 1st connect your ipod.

it says it belongs to another library if u connect to this one u will lose all your songs.

so say no

backup the ipod up to your hard disk, then add the songs to itunes from the ipod backup then link it to itunes

u sort of learn by mistakes.

I have 2 hard disks so i always keep an extra copy of all my music as i dont wanna go through all the hastle of copying 5000 songs again and losing what i bought off itunes.

Do you not open it up from My Computer and drop them in to a folder in there ? Not sure being a iPod mini user ;)

Surely you'd keep the box or the manual if you've bought something and haven't managed to learn all the features of it?

Theres bound to be a million ipod forums, and theres google. You will find an answer there much faster than anyone here can reply.

Seriously chap, you need to sort out your attitude when it comes to someone not agreeing with you.

Probably I'll be told to piss off now, though.

He gets told to read the manual (Which everyone should do whenever they buy any electrical equipment) and he goes and spazzes out at them, he doesn't deserve help.
