Surely if you like iPods, then that is a good thing? It looks the same, it has more features, and its cheaper? Surely iPod fans would love it?

A Ferrari copy is not a Ferrari, no matter what you do with it. And Ferrari fans will not like it. Why is that?

It's simply trying to be the iPod. Even the journalists were asking the Creative bosses about it at the launch. But it's just not quite there. An iPod is still the best selling mp3 player out there because they've got the market sewn up.

At least the iRiver, despite being fantastically ugly, is at different enough to be considered different!

Actually, on the topic of Ferrari copies, Toyota MR2s are often used as Ferrari copies and are actually quite loved because there cheap, technically kit cars (so the insurence is mega low) and still have awesome performance.

If it was trying to be an ipod it wouldnt have WMA support. It would also have a silly name like iRacing. Infact, i'd say the iRivier is doing more of a copy as the use of the "i" in the name is blatently trying to cash in on the ipods populairty through product reconitian.

The Zen (at least my one) doesnt look anything like an ipod in the slightest.





The middle is the Zen Touch, bottom is the Zen Xtra (the one i have, i prefer the buttons on the side). The only similarties i see is the blue screen (which is the standard for all MP3 Players usually), and the fact there square. In which case, people better start questioning dell. There PC cases are the same shape as ipods. Cant be too carefull with those double decker buses too. They look surprisingly like ipods if you squint

I'm a fan of ipods (despite owning an iriver) because of the way it integrates with itunes. I think I tunes is fantastic, its so easy to use - and for me the interface is far easier than WMP10. Do the creatives sync with WMP like irivers?

Either way, we're getting OT here. As far as i can see, the only resemblence between the Zen and the ipod is - it plays MP3s and is square.

I got a 40GB Zen Touch and it haven't let me down so far.

I have dropped it a few times and it got some dents on it and it is still going nicely.

arrive this afternoon, finally!

gotta say im impressed at the ease of adding and deleting songs, its just like dropping files into a folder, and very VERY quick (approx 1.5 secs per tracks)

lets hope it doesnt break

just dont have it in ure car, and accelerate quickly away... and it flies into the backseat of ure car. it will become a brick then

errr, irivers have been around since 2000, before the ipod so if anything apple got on the i trend after
