I have made a new tutorial about making renders with blender:

YOU CAN READ MY TUTORIAL:

[www4.uji.es]

I hope that you like it and I hope to recive some
comments to improve it.

You can see some basic renders with blender:

Finally I will soy you some post on gpxcarpainting that
I made some time ago
( [racing-leagues.com] )

Well, I'm trying to show that Blender is a powerful 3d
rendering progam.

On the net you can find lots of tutorials, one from the
blender home pages is:

[download.blender.org]

I have good news, I found a script that imports the mapping too.
So you can load your 3ds file into blender without any problem.

You can dowload the script from my home page:

[www4.uji.es]

The instructions are:

****************************************************
* *
* Install import-3ds-0.7-textures.py Instructuions *
* *
****************************************************

Feautres:
----------
This scrpit imports the mesh, the textures and the
UV mapping from a .3ds file.
So you can export your model in this format from
ZModeler and then import it into Blender.

How to install:
---------------
Place the import-3ds-0.7-textures.py file in
"Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts". The new
importer will be available under the import menu item.

This script works to me on blender2.37.

*****************************************************
End of the document
*****************************************************

And some images of my car (modeled in ZModeler1.07b) and
exported as 3ds and imported into blender with this
scripts are.

In a near future i will make a tutorial about how to use blender:
import the car, load the textures (materials), make a render...
and some blender basics.

Thanks to all people to read this.

to install the script I unzip the zip file and then
place the import-3ds-0.7-textures.py file in "Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts" folder.
The new importer will be available under the import menu item.
(this is the same as I explained in the tutorial, and it works to me
on the 2.37blender).
I don't know were is your problem. I hope that you can solve the problem.
