Dear prizewinner,

Congratulations! You've won an unique kart-competition, you against Christijan Albers, with our Call & Win action in Veronica Magazine issue 30.

...

This afternoon is a 3 hour racecompetition with training, races and finale!

Terms:
The minimum age is 16.

...

Veronica Magazine

This is all very nice of course, but I am only 14! And in the magazine, there wasn't anything like: NOTE: minimum age 16! So maybe I won't race against Albers at all! :(

if there is nothing in the magazine that states it they have to honor it.

not if they can't provide the insurance required.

I'd say BS them and say you're 16, and tell them to get stuffed if they ask for a birth certificate or something ;)

I'm sure they will ask for it. I'll take the letter with me and say: 'Oops, silly me, I forgot my certificate.' (which you have to have with you, so if there's a cop passing by, altough that chance is very small, I can get a fine of 35 euros)

say wha...?

that's a law?

Yes, it's has to improve safety and stuff. If you are 14 years or older, you must have something to identyfie (spelling;)) yourself, like passports, driving licences or ID-cards. And I think it's just a sneaky way to collect money because an ID-card costs 35 euros.

If I read this all correct.

a) You can't go because you're too young, meaning you don't get to race Albers for free.

b) You 'forget' your ID, and have to pay

Yes, but I don't think I am the only one who is too young. There are 39 other winners so I hope there are some more who are young. And if that's not gonna help, I'll sue them! ;)

ring them (anonymously) and ask about it. If they say you can't do it, just go anyway still and 'forget' ur ID :)

If you're not old enough to race, don't do it. If something happens to you you have no leverage with insurance, and more importantly if you're involved in an incident where someone else gets injured you leave yourself open to being sued, and probably prosecuted. Sell the ticket to someone who is old enough, or phone up and see what they suggest.

It's with a kart. Karts don't go that fast.

I think that the kart I'll drive (i hope) goes about 40 or 50 mph.

If you can't go. Flog it on eBay so you can make a nice profit out of it ;-)

Did your birth certificate come with an apology letter from Durex?
