there's already pleanty of drug dealing in the area.

We should do well, we've been getting better each year and it's great for the country and sport as a whole to get it.

The great news is london should finally get a decent velodrome

yeah and in both case the amount of support given by the goverment and stuff was nothing in comparison, certainly as someone outside london, it does seem a bit unfair certainly with the millenium project and national stadium also facing the same sort of issues in the last few years, but i am glad london got it, better than nothing i guess

i cant believe people are saying "it wont help us" well no, but hosting olympics in brum or manchester wont help anywwhere else either. IS everyone devoid of some [removed] common sense.

Neither Manchester nor birmingham stood any real chance of getting the games and still dont, they didnt get passed the first round and wouldnt have regardless of whether or not the gov backed them, i mean ffs its clear that a city can only win if its got prestige.

Cities all over England have had the chance to bid for things from time to time - Manchester got lots of support when it went for the 2000 Olympics, and of course London couldnt hold them now - but they have plans that are obviously good enough to convince the IOC members to vote for London for 2012, not now!

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

Hey relax on the anger guys. The olympics are about celebrating humanity, and the best we can possibly do. Lets keep it that way.

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

Yes Dan, but none of those actually happened in America, so they'd obviously be oblivious to them.
