Yeah, that's where I got my headphones from.

A bit expensive but it is very good though.

Heard that it got poor battery life. Maybe you can explain on that? :)

Basically I am looking for a small mp3 player to paly my favourite songs, maybe to put my photos or even videos in it as it would be a big bonus.

14 hour battery life when using music. Quite a bit above average isnt it?

Has alot of file support too.

in iPods the volume is limited but you can set the upper volume limit.

I currently have a Sandisk Sansa, very good mp3 player, prefer it to my old iPod Photo. You can view pictures, videos on it as well. But as the screen is so small you will never use the video feature. Audio playback is good once you upgrade to the latest firmware as the default European firmware is very quiet in volume.

I like the iPod's navigation and menu system a lot, just they get scratched way too easy. My old iPod was scratched to hell and back, this made the screen look very dull. The Zune looks good as well, only problem is that is hasn't got a release date for Europe yet (?) and the noise from America is saying that this is not very popular.

Its not popular because its a Microsoft product, and Microsoft isnt cool.

They can be imported, or simply bought on ebay. They can be charged via USB, so plugs arent a problem either.

I don't really understand why everyone hates Microsoft so much. In my opinion they have made numerous great operating systems (bar Windows ME). Many things that people take for granted now (Direct X etc)

People just think its cool to like Apple. Ive never seen the attraction with Apple computers. They have very few games, and their hardware is expensive. The iPhone is annoying as well, all my favourite tech sites (Engadget, Digg etc) are all full of iPhone 'news' and i couldn't care less ;)

Anyway, i would recommend the SanDisk Sansa to anyone looking for a Nano alternative. Its just a little big bigger but has a lot more features such as voice recorder, video playback and a FM radio if you get the American version.

Sorry for the rant;)

actually i had a Sansa but for me it was rly bad because it couldn't take my video files, even converting them to the right format on my pc the video was perfect and in my mp3 it was like... lagging, and it accidentally falled on the floor once and it was gone, dead, nothing

so now i have a black ipod nano 8gigs witch is pretty perfect, never had a problem with it for the last 3 months i have it...

This is becoming a deaf related thread now!

I have just had my new digital hearing aids yesterday after wearing analogue hearing aids all of my life.

Sadly, my headphones (as I mentioned earlier on in this page) don't work with the digital hearing aids. I can hear the music from the Zen but it doesn't cut out the background noise.

So I wonder if you do wear digital hearing aids and how you got around having
no problems listening to your music then?

Cheers.

You what? Speak up mate! ;)

Ah the move from analogue to digital hearing aids. Did that about 5 years ago maybe? In London. So yes I wear digital hearing aids. My hearing aids have some contact points on them. Then I get a shoe for each hearing aid. The shoe also has contact points that match the contact points on the hearing aid. I then have a special cable which at one end is a normal 3.5mm plug and at the other end a three pronged plug to fit into the shoe. I plut the cable into my iPod, PC etc and voila I has music.

So its just making headphones in effect out of my hearing aids. Its good as the sound doesn't leak like with normal headphones meaning I can sit in the quiet carriage on the Virgin trains without upsetting any of the other passengers. (Y)

Add me to MSN if you want. I'll PM you my MSN address.

A Zune arrived in the post today. It had my name on it.

I is very happy.

One thing that is puzzeling me a bit, i cant seem to turn it off, so it stays off, ill press the play/pause button (on/off button according to the manual) and it will shut down to a blank screen so its nothing, but then if i press the back button it boots into the main menu in about 2 seconds. seems more like a standby mode. which sucks tbh.

Otyher than that the sound is really good, i got the premium earphones with it, which are really good, the menu's are really easy to navigate. and yeah. really good player!

You can also connect the Zune to your TV. So convert your fav movies/shows to wmv and you can watch them on the tele :P

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
